She doesn’t have the mentality to recruit and coach a major college program. The program won’t be her priority. She does know her stuff for sure. Just not a proper fit.

Kayla Braud is my guess for next in line at Bama.

A good friend of mine is also on that list of new coaches for team USA. Pretty cool opportunity for him!

I'm amongst the world's worst at hijacking threads when an idle or random thought crosses my mind. What I don't get here is this is a great moment for Kelly and there's a comment about Murph in a thread about something she's accomplished.

Where in my post did I mention Murphy? I'm simply saying her career is on a very elite trajectory working with some of the most elite coaches in the game. There will come a time when Murphy is no longer the coach. I'm not looking for him to leave but the reality is he has been doing this for 30? years and very few make it that long. I am saying looks like down the road one day I think we would have to talk to her. My comments were only intended to say I think she is in a good position when and if the job ever opens. I felt the same way about Van Brakle until she only won 15 games in two years at Memphis and went backwards in year two. I am a big fan of Braud but think she needs a little more time on the sidelines and learning the administrative part of the game. I guess Traina fell off the radar not sure what she is doing now. Keep an eye on Iamurri. I believe her dad is a college coach. She was always a fireball and she may have the chops to lead a program down the line.

It's been a bit since I've looked to see what Jackie is doing now-a-day. The last I recall she was coaching at Dartmouth I believe...still playing in Houston and working with team USA.

I don't disagree on Kayla. A part of me thinks Aly saw the writing on the wall.

I actually really like Murphy. But there seems to be something a little off recently. The last couple of years has been tough to watch us not recruit/develop/retain offensive weapons and see them transfer within the conference. Not sure if that was Lockeroom stuff maybe some bad apples. Maybe some poison left over from the Kilfoyle era. I've had differences at time with all the coaches. Even Saban had flaws in his system that led to losses to the right team at the wrong time but over the long haul we won more than we lost. We are planning to send my daughter to Middle school camp at Bama this summer. Another girl on her travel team is family friends with Fouts' family. My daughter is a lefty Pitcher/ CF speedster type. Her teammate is an outstanding pitcher also. We are trying to get them both down there. Her team is playing in the TN State Championships this weekend and I'll miss it because I'm cooking at Smoke Slam in Memphis this week. Hopefully get the Boy back down there for Kicking camp again this summer. His priority this summer is the Kohl's camp. He is a rising Junior this fall so hoping to get a rating at the Kohl's invitational scholarship camp. He got an invite last summer as a sophomore, but we had a conflict.
