📝 Kaho in practice rotations. UPDATE: Saban says he was granted release from WA due to academic reasons.

Ha Ha, went to see what happened and they seem as unsure as anyone else at this point. I like Peterson a lot, so I would never knock him for the way he conducts himself, his program, and everything else. Did get a little laugh at this one though...

What happened here at Washington?
It was outside of football; nothing really to do with Washington. He has an aunt and uncle who both passed away recently--unexpected. His parents are going through a divorce. And, whether it's due to those reasons are others, he's said to have lost about 20lbs over the last several weeks. It's a health issue and very well may be mental. He's gone through a hell of a tough time.

Saw this posted on The Rant.......hope this kid does sign with Bama....he can play this season as well.......

Kevin Hagan on Bill King this morning said he is hearing Kaho will either enroll at USCw or Bama. He said it looks like Bama at this point. He put it conservatively at 70% and said he looks for Saban and Tosh to close this out ASAP.

I know this had been discussed and he might be wrong here, but he said Kaho would be immediately eligible this season.

Goes without saying, but he of course said it - Kaho would be an absolute homerun for the staff as a #1 recruit at the #1 position of need.

Relative to our team chemistry he indicated it was not impacted by the QB battle. He said the unquestioned leaders on offense (Harris) and defense (Jennings) have the team where they need to be and that at Bama almost every player is in or has been in a position battle so it's not that unusual of a situation for the team.

He Coming......

Great get and talk about something out of the blue. The Washington folks ain't happy about losing their #1 recruit and many are screaming the fix is in. But, that's what fans do. Many claims that his mom was always big on USC and that Dad preferred Alabama before he signed with Washington.

I say, keep the Polynesian pipeline going, Tosh.

Ale Kaho is headed to Alabama | Brandon Kaho
Alabama received a major boost to its depth at inside linebacker Wednesday as four-star Ale Kaho is set to join the Crimson Tide, according to multiple reports. Kaho, who was heavily recruited by Alabama in this year’s class was granted a full release from his scholarship at Washington earlier this week. Kaho never enrolled at Washington, making him eligible to play right away at Alabama.

“His family was really adamant that he needs to — he’s going through some stuff and he needs to be close to his family,” Washington head coach Chris Petersen said Monday. “And we get that. You’ve got to do the right thing. We wish him the best.”

Kaho, 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, was rated as the No. 82 player overall in the 2018 class. While he was listed as an outside linebacker by Rivals, he also has the capability to help Alabama’s depth inside as well.

"As a football player, I love Kaho on film. He's a hard hitter, he's aggressive, plays with a mean streak, he's smart, excellent in coverage, breaks on the ball, trusts his eyes and he has the athleticism to fly all over the field to make plays," Rivals West Coast analyst Adam Gorney said. "But he was playing against Reno competition which is not elite and he did not participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January where he could have really staked a claim as one of the best linebackers in the country.

"If I had to guess, Kaho is going to take his time to get back on the field and get going again. He has to regain weight, have some off-the-field things settle down and then he could excel. Alabama knows how to develop linebackers as well as any program in the country. Over time, Kaho could be one of those guys. But it will probably take some time."

If he's from Reno, how does coming to Alabama get him closer to family?

Seems like a RS situation which is fine... Feel bad for the kid if the stress if impacting him physically. Nice pick up for the good guys though regardless!
