📽 /🎵 Jurassic World Rebirth | Official Trailer.

One of those franchises I never had any interest in... seen bits and pieces of them, especially the first one, but it never reeled me in and the trailers do nothing for me. There are a couple of summer movies that I may go watch in theatres though...

Was never a huge Superman fan either, but I'm interested in this James Gunn version...

May go see this if little Miss Van de Graaff wants to see it...

John Wick spinoff...

Will probably go see...

I don't really have any interest in this one, but I'm sure it'll do well...

The key for me though is being near a good AMC theatre (you can reserve seats and have plenty of room), and that excludes Tuscaloosa. So if and when I can get to one to watch is iffy.

I haven't been in a theater in years...decades. It was Iron Man 2 and I fell asleep in the movie. I've said this before...he is really good at deadpan comedy.

The OJ nod at the last of that clip...just funny.
Last time I went to the movies, took the grandson to watch Batman vs Superman.

It's been 10 years for me. I went to see Jurassic World. Terrible experience thanks to 2 girls who couldn't stay off their phones. I asked them to turn them off. The exchange ended with me saying, "Fuck you, too".

I started to take it further, but decided I didn't want to spend time in jail. I also decided that was the last time I'd go to the theater.

Ticket prices
People with no manners (which I really don't understand paying that much for a movie ticket and then staring at your phone screen the whole time).

So now I just wait until it hits streaming and pay 1 price to watch it as many times as I want.

How much was the popcorn and drink?
I don't do snacks in the theatre; often. IF anything, maybe chips and dip but ... nah, that cheese is some nasty shit. When I was attending the "dollar theatre" (after quitting the "movie theatres" It was $2 bucks for a large water and a little over five for a decent pint of Scotch. I've never been a "candy guy."

In most cases they are available, online, free, if you know where to look. IE: Fear Street: Prom Queen was released and its already online. The Accountant 2 is as well...it's only on an HDRip right now.

Up until last year, I rarely went... maybe once every couple of years to take the kid to see a Disney flick she wanted to see like Frozen 2 or something. But when the AMC theatres remolded... evolved... it peaked my interest. By tickets on the app where you pick your seats, comfortable seats at that recline, plenty of space so you aren't hearing your neighbor smack on Skittles, and no waiting in lines for food/drink. I still don't go often (again, partly because I don't have an AMC close by), but I go a couple times a year now. Much better experience than it used to be.

I've noticed their location up by the mall isn't crowded for the afternoons shows any longer...maybe 20 cars for five movies, or six. One of my CC's has a deal where I can get five bucks tickets. I don't remember if it was Cap One or BOA. I did notice the five bucks.

I just looked at the top fifty movies for 2023. I've watched two: Oppenheimer and the Wick movie.
2024. Only a part of one...the Deadpool movie.
This year? Only two I've thought about watching. MI, and the latest The Accountant movie.

There's five over three years I'd consider going to ...
