🏈 Julio Jones?

Yeah, it will likely be next fall before he gets to be interviewed by the media after practices (and games and such). Even then, it probably won't be an often occurrence. Saban normally has that task assigned to the upperclassmen.

okay, thanks for the info. i've just been lookin forward to hearing him.

He was made available to the media after the SECCG in December as you may recall, but that was simply because of the SEC's "Open Locker Room" policy for the SECCG. If you never saw/heard it though, I'm sure a lot of that exchange with the media is on YouTube or somewhere.

Going into this third spring I've sort of confirmed this, in my own mind, about Saban's interview policy.

If there are any indications on guys that are winning position battles in the spring / entrenching themselves in starting roles you end up seeing them during player interviews.

An example of this is the battle for center. Who have we seen talk to the media about the offensive line and practice? Vlachos. We've seen Peek, though that's not a shock. We've seen Boswell a few practices in when he was falling into that guard role all the time.

The "leaders" in Saban's mind are the one getting the mic time as well. Johnson, Arenas, McClain, Cody, Chapman, McElroy...you see the "staples" that hold the team together in those short media sessions.

Just my observations....

Julio has always seemed like a very reserved guy that doesn't really want a whole lot of attention. I have heard this somewhere...and some of the gurus on this site may be able to confirm whether it's true or not...but I think when he had his name chanted at basketball games he didn't like it at all.

Well that would bring into question weather or not he really cares for the crowd chanting "Julio Julio Julio!" @ games when he pulls off a huge play.

You can hear the low rumble..... kinda threw me off @ a game last year....
didn't know what everyone was chanting @ 1st. lol

Altho....i find it hard to belive these guys don't feed ofthe crowd doing this stuff. Having been around musicians most of my life i've seen what good crowd feed back can do for them. I imagine it's very sureal. And kinda hrd to be negative whith all of that enthusiasm for what you & your teamates are doing.
Which also puzzles me why our ouwn crowd will boo @ a bad play made by one of our guys. It's distatefull to me. and disrespectfull. I never boo MY team. Ever.

The day the basketball crowd was chanting his name...that didn't bother him.

Fans coming up to him asking for his autograph, etc., was enough to turn him off and he left soon after that.
