JuJu Smith-Schuster: USC to 'make history' against Alabama

USC finished its spring football game Saturday, meaning that the next time the Trojans take the field for a game, it will be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, against the defending national champions.

But USC All-America candidate JuJu Smith-Schuster isn’t exactly dreading the showdown in the Alabama Crimson Tide.

ā€œI’m very excited,ā€ Smith-Schuster told the Pac-12 Network. ā€œYou know, Alabama’s a great team, and I think my guys are going to be ready when it comes September 3rd.

ā€œOur preparation is going to get us where we need to be at,ā€ Smith-Schuster continued, ā€œand we’re just going to make history.ā€

If the Trojans are to make history, they’ll need a big game from Smith-Schuster, one of college football’s best wide receivers after catching 89 passes for 1,454 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore.

I saw this yesterday when I was looking over one of the USC sites reading about their spring camp. The asshole sarcastic side of me took over, much to your possible dismay.

Ya know, the Edsall made history. Napoleon made history when he invaded Russia. Coca-Cola made history with New Coke. AOL made history when it bought Time Warner. ...

BUT, since we're talking college football here...

Notre Dame made history when they hired Gerry Faust. Oklahoma made history when they hired John Blake. Charlie Weiss, Mike DuBose, Ray Goff, and do I dare mention Paul Hackett? After all, Hackett is a USC guy.

Dare I say he'll be the best WR we play against all regular season.
I've been thinking about this since you posted it yesterday.

Now, I've seen more of one than the other, but if I were asked about the most talented/dangerous WR the Tide will face this season my thoughts lean towards Christian Kirk.

If I get my wish granted, Kirk has a horrible day when Bama plays the Aggies. But, that revolves around my wanting to see Trevor Knight laid out on his ass; continuously. The only thing that would be better is if Stoops was coaching in College Station and Knight spends his day on the turf.

Christian is definitely up there with JuJu.

On paper, it seems that TAMU has the advantage over USC at the QB position, but thinking USC has the advantage on the offensive line. Callaway > Connelly.

Damn if SC doesn't have a lot of ties to the state of Alabama when you add Tee Martin & Tommie Robinson to the list (Callaway & both Helton's).
