At Charlotte...That's a step down, imo.

Just hours after a report that a coaching change will likely happen at Charlotte by the end of the season, an Alabama assistant has already been named as one to watch as a potential replacement.

Football Scoop reported Sunday afternoon that the 49ers will “part ways” with head coach Brad Lambert.

CBS Sports college football writer Barton Simmons then floated Alabama co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Josh Gattis as a possibility to replace Lambert and Athletic writer Bruce Feldman agreed.

It would be tough to leave such a winning atmosphere after spending just one year under Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, but Charlotte would be alluring to Gattis.

He is familiar with North Carolina after playing his college football at Wake Forest and it would also be his first head coaching position after spending time as an assistant at Vanderbilt and Penn State.

I am not sure I would want to make that move myself but if you really want to be a head coach, it may be the route to take. Personally, I would stay at Bama for another year or two and wait my turn for a better head coaching gig if that is what I really wanted.

Nooooo!

Our receivers are vastly improved from even last year!

Hoping he stays and waits it out for a better HC gig than Charlotte. Hell, I'm sure they can't pay him, as a HC, as much as he's making as a position coach here.

@Sgt. Lincoln Osiris (to the tune of Village People's In The Navy)

We want you! We want you! We want you as a new recruit to coach WR at Bama!
