🏈 Jones, Ingram, Dareus declare. Hightower to stay

Gonna miss those guys. Gave us a TON of memories! That class of 2008 is leaving one hell of a legacy at Bama and Dont'a is gonna be giving us some more memories! Coach Saban did say there was more guys still making their decision so it may not be over yet...

I'm pleased that Hightower is coming back. Tough decision for him, but he didn't get the grade he was hoping for. In the end, barring another injury, be made the best call.

Things are not over yet with Maze. I still won't be shocked if he goes. In fact, I'll probably be more surprised if he stays. Barron is another one to watch, but unlike Maze, he would be better off staying another season if he wants the big money.

As for Ingram, Julio, and Dareus... I will miss seeing those 3 in crimson. I appreciate all they did to help being UA football back to the top and wish them a long, healthy, and very prosperous career in the NFL.

Ditto! They were a part of a great class. They made the decision to come to UA before Bama was a contender. Thanks guys for what you did!

I think all four made the right decision. Ingram will easily be the first back taken, Dareus is a top ten lock and Jones will be the second receiver taken off the board. I was talking to a Bama alum today about Ingram and Jones--it wouldn't shock me for either one of them to end up in New England. New England needs a young, ground churning running back that is an able blocker and a receiving threat out of the backfield. Haven't I just described Ingram? Also, with Moss finally being let go, they could use a solid blocking receiver with speed to stretch the field; they could also use a receiver that doesn't resemble a garden gnome. They will both do well in the league. If Julio can continue the momentum he picked up late this year he will be a monster after the combine.

I'm sure Hightower is bummed but he needs another season to get that knee in shape. 12-18 months from a full recovery with any catastrophic knee injury, obviously that window extends a bit if you ask more of your joints than even a very active normal person.

I saw the comments about Maze possibly going out--that would shock me. I just don't think he'd rate high enough to warrant going. He's a dynamic player but I think he could benefit from taking a year as the primary guy. Brandon, I don't know but I think Barron (due to injury) and Maze should both come back. I'm afraid Barron won't recover quickly enough to really make the improvement he needs to be a high draft pick. Although, it would be easier for me to see him going out than Maze. I don't know--maybe I'm just the odd man out here, it wouldn't be the first time.
