📝 jones and collins baby

I feel good about Jones' commitment, but Collins' family/friends/people in his community are going to be all over him about switching to LSU then next couple of weeks. Hopefully we can hang on to him, but this one isn't over quite yet...

No it does not look like it is over. I don't think Collins commitment will stick based on his mothers reaction. It is a shame that she is not supporting him.

Certainly Mom knew coming in who he would select. I agree 100% though about her not supporting his decision, that's got to be rough on him. I think mom may be a little hurt over potentially not being the #1 lady.

yeah i was REALLY disappointed with the way his mother reacted... and not just because Im a Bama fan... but because thats her kid you dont do that... especially on National TV embarrassing the kid. smh have a little class rather than act like a spoiled brat. kudos to his grandmother (thats who im suspected it was) for showing him support and getting up and hugging him after his mom started sulking. wouldnt be surprised if he flips, its a shame tho.

I can tell Jones is happy and Collins himself looks very happy, but the family aspect disturbed me. Living with a woman like that for the rest of the next semester is going to be hell for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets basically bullied into swapping. It's pretty weird to be in a situation like that. I would support my child if he decided another SEC school was best for him, even if he had a scholarship offer from Bama. It's not her life, it's his, his decisions are allowed to shape his future. She needs to get over herself and just be proud that he's going to be moving to the next level at a fine institution.

the video was part of the Under Armor game. landing Jones was huge too, make no mistake about it, kid is good. who else is excited about Amari Cooper after that game?

here is a vid post announcement > http://espn.go.com/college-sports/r...ade-recruits-announce-armour-all-america-game

honestly, I wouldn't be happy if my kid grew up being a Bama fan, had a chance to play for Bama and picked - LSU, Tennessee or Auburn. Not sure how I'd act.

I don't blame his mom for being disappointed.

There is no reason to think that this decision was made recently. Mom had to have known for some time of his desire. Her having that time to work on him clearly has not yield an LSU commitment. My point is that I think what we saw was Mom exercising the only influence that she has remaining at this point -- to make it known that she is not a fan of the choice and is a fan of LSU. If that is the case, that LC will face no pressure that he has not already worked past, our chance stand good -- unless....

CNS still needs a parent's signiture. I'm thinking that if denying her signiture was card that she was willing to play, she would have already let him know that Bama was not an option and we would not have seen an announcement last night. This looks like a fight that we can win, as long as it stays fair (read: no "incentives" coming to the game)

My deeper concern/question is this: If LC is excited about Bama and CNS himself has been there to recruit Momma, what is it that has her against Bama? This was not one of those cases where a son has numerous good choices in the mind the parent thus any choice is one that they can like. LCsM (Landon Collin's Momma) was AGAINST Alabama. Why is she against Alabama?

Looks like CNS and company will have to recruit one more to the fold, MOMMA. As stated earlier, she had to know of this, maybe it was genuine or maybe it wasn't. Who knows? I guess we will have to wait and see Feb. 1st. As for the Jones kid, WOW!! The kid has some serious speed. I can already vision him in the slot!!
