🏈 Jon Allen's technique level: BEASTMODE

Me being a former DL coach, Jon Allen is easily becoming my favorite DLman of the Saban era.

Guys his stature usually are good at one or two things, mostly a straight bull rush, or gap shooting. But, this kid has a plethora of tools in his belt. His freakish combination of speed and power for a 290 # guy is uncanny. Never takes a false step, and his hand placement on would-be blockers is superb. Only thing I haven't seen him use much is a spin/stab. I think Tim Williams has that move on lock down though.

Somebody layered the infamous superman sack with actual Superman "takes flight" music...haha (No cape, @rick4bama, but close enough)

And then there's this:

This is how a former NFL scout broke down Jonathan Allen's Superman-esque sack against Texas A&M, the one where he dove over an Aggies running back and briefly flew through the air Superman-style on his way to sacking Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight:
Slap, swim, superman. New pass rush move. ✈️https://t.co/Dy593Uat8v

In 2009, Suh finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting and became the first defensive player to be named the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year. Suh was then selected No. 2 overall in the 2010 NFL draft and has since been selected to four Pro Bowls.
Jonathan Allen looks like a quicker Suh on tape. He is a one man wrecking machine.

Through eight games, Allen has 35 tackles, six sacks, 10 additional quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, a blocked kick, the two defensive touchdowns and several special, standout moments like the Superman-esque sack against Texas A&M.
Best hands I've seen on a collegiate defensive lineman. Jonathan Allen, Alabama. https://t.co/cmKrQ1zLVO
