šŸˆ Jimbo Fisher's FSU QB stats tell a different story

All too often I see "A&M will contend because they have the financial resources..." I've never seen an answer as to why A&M hasn't been contending. They've always had the resources.

Fisher didn't leave FSU better off when he left. Fisher didn't improve FSU during his time there.

I have a hard time grasping the reasoning on why the expectation for a different A&M.

Jimbo came to assist Coach Bowden get FSU headed back into the right direction.....he did...take a good look at Bobby's record his last 9 years

'07 to '09 as OC and QB coach didn't impress.
Having double digit win totals, a NC, and a 7-6 season all within his era is Bobby Bowden—Fisher was the Cliff's Notes version.

Don't misunderstand me. He's a good coach—among a lot of good coaches. He's got his advantages over Sumlin (although I've never been a fan of what that type of football scheme brings to the field.) Better than Sherman? Possibly. It's my opinion they haven't seen an upgrade in coaching since they fired Slocum.

Sumlin was SOFT and his team played his style. I think by the end of 2020 we will better understand both Jimbo and A&M.

Taggert should be the answer to the riddle is talent alone enough? Fisher didn't go gently into the night this season. He is out recruiting Sumlin in one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country and he already has the Aggies playing more physical than the last few years. The administration at College Station has it right. They are signing unlimited checks and getting out of the way. I believe the record shows he's already a better gameday coach than Kirby and can recruit with the Georgia's of the SEC.

That's the point I was making with a few minor, but different, points of view. It's not "Sumlin's style." It's the Mumme/Leach style of football. We have seen the same from every coach sprung from that coaching tree.

Let's sum it up this way. It's a mindset that "we'll sacrifice defensive for offensive efficiency." Hell, we have seen it this past season at Bama in two sports: football and currently in men's basketball.

And how this is different from Sumlin? The administration wanted disciplinary actions from Sumlin with regard to some of the incidents with his team and he was given carte blanche. He had as much of an open checkbook as Fisher has now.

Which goes back to the original point. A&M has always had the resources. They've had a good number of good coaches; Fisher being one. But now they're going to make that final push because of the open check books and staying out of the way?

If you carefully examine the context of my comments, it wasn't about a comparison of Sumlin. I thought the administration did a great job of economically supporting Sumlin. But facilities and the support system will only benefit Jimbo who I believe will know what to do with all this support more fully. Get my point?

Get my point?
I get what you're thinking. I'm looking for something to support that thought process. History, which has given the A&M coaches the same support, has shown different results.

I do find it a bit ironic that people talk about the success of Dabo and Fisher in the ACC. Dabo's is often qualified by "there is no competition." That was pointed to yesterday with the over/unders on win totals and the closest team to Clemson were forecasted 8 win teams. When Fisher was in his 'run' of 10+ win seasons at FSU it was also qualified by "against whom?"

Now it appears that doesn't matter. It's no longer "against whom." It's all about the results without the qualifiers. With A&M, now it's about whom. And, like FSU, it's a statement without qualifications.

To "Get my point" I'll call. Where's the logic?

Clemson has beaten Bama twice for the NC. Dabo may have an easier road to the playoff but who would argue he is legit? Everything is relative and getting into a pizzing contest about Fisher with his track record is crazy. If someone is not immediately impressed with Jimbo's first year in College Station, they should be. To argue with his overall resume is just foolish.

He finished second in the west and finally got the LSU monkey off his back. Not for a controversial ref call vs Clemson he could have had a watershed moment. More importantly, Jimbo's no-nonsense style won't allow him to jack around with his players when it comes to performance on the field. The culture is not the same and it feels to me that they are taking football a lot more serious than under Sumlin. That's worth big money alone.

I thought his first year was a lot more impressive than Kirby Smart's first attempt. Didn't you?

To argue with his overall resume is just foolish? Do what?

The whole point about his anticipated success at A&M is based on this very resume and referring to it is foolish?

Curious, but idle thought. Where were you in 1980? I'm wondering if we could find you on a Chevy lot selling Citations with the closing phrase, "forget what Consumer Reports has to say about it being the most problematic car ever made! It's new. Buy it now!"

Two views here. Odd that his defense is coming from other SEC fans when their own state media is recognizing the very thing we're discussing here. If this is a case of tl:dr, here's a quick synopsis. With another Winston, he's a "fraud."

Suppose I told you that this particular model of "Citation" won Motor Trend car of the year? Now, how do you like me?

Jimbo went on to coach at FSU for 8 years accumulating an 83–23 record.

2013 BCS national championship. 2014 4 team playoff.

4 ACC conference championships

4 AP Poll top 10 finishes.

5 bowl game victories, including the BCS.

His 0.783 winning percentage is the highest in FSU history among former head coaches. That would include Bobby Bowden.

How many active head coaches do we have at the present that have won a national championship? Answer: 3
It's really not that easy.

Can your Citation do that?

Citation was "best bet yet"...
Fisher isin a different setting now...we all know that...
If he isthat good it will come out....
I think he is over rated.... good but not very good.
.ACC then...SECw now.... triple A to Majors
And Chizik won a NC....and he sure wasnt even good
