Dillman was named the Director of Strength & Conditioning for the University of Florida Athletic program in January of 2012. He comes to UF after serving as the Head of Physical Conditioning at the IMG Performance Institute in Bradenton, Fla., since the fall of 2009. No stranger to a championship culture on the gridiron, he oversaw back-to-back national titles as the head strength and conditioning coach at Appalachian State in 2006 and 2007 and also served on the staff at LSU for its SEC and BCS Championships in 2003.
As the Head of Physical Conditioning at IMG Academies, Dillman oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for all youth, adult, collegiate and professional athletes who trained at the Academy, including NBA and NFL offseason workouts, NFL Combine training and the Madden Football Academy. Prior to his time at IMG, Dillman was the Director of Strength & Conditioning at his alma mater, Appalachian State University. He has also served as an Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning at LSU and Louisiana-Monroe.
A native of Rockingham, N.C., Dillman was a football letterman at Elon College before he transferred to Appalachian State University, where he completed his football eligibility. He earned a bachelorās degree in Exercise Science.
Dillman first worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at UL-Monroe beginning in 2001, working with nine different teams over his tenure with the Warhawks. In 2003, he was hired as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at LSU and helped the Tigers to several notable achievements, including an SEC and BCS National Championship for the football team, Final Four appearances for both the menās and womenās basketball teams and a College World Series trip for the baseball team. He also worked with menās and womenās tennis and gymnastics.
In 2006, when his alma mater had a position open for the head strength and conditioning coach, Dillman jumped at the opportunity. He helped the football program to two-straight Division I-AA national championships and the historic upset of No. 5-ranked Michigan in 2007.
Dillman is a member of the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association and the American Football Coaches Association.
