Former Texas Tech star Wes Welker, now of the New England Patriots of the National Football League, holds the NCAA record for career punt return yards at 1,761. Arenas needs 218 yards to pass Welker, and 152 to break the 60-year-old Southeastern Conference record of 1,695, held by Vanderbilt’s Lee Nalley.
