🏈 Jarrick Williams to miss four weeks with a broken foot, Eddie Jackson cleared to play

After playing all game Saturday, Alabama defensive back Jarrick Williams had a sore foot.

After x-rays, coach Nick Saban said the senior from Mobile had a broken bone. He'll miss the next four weeks to recover.

Williams made three tackles in the 33-23 win over West Virginia. He was the starter at the Star position.

Geno Smith and Maurice Smith are available to fill the void. Eddie Jackson will begin taking reps after being cleared to play by team doctors following his spring knee injury.

Saban said Williams suffered a "Jones fracture," which is a break of the fifth metatarsal at the base of his small toe. Doctors put a screw in his foot Sunday.

Cornerback Cyrus Jones said he didn't hear about Williams' injury until he arrived at the football complex Sunday.

"Jarrick being out is definitely going to affect us in some way," cornerback Cyrus Jones said. "But I think the young guys we have will step up, but I don't really know too many details."

Saban also said receiver DeAndrew White's shoulder injury will keep him out two weeks. He left the game in the second half with a separated shoulder.
