Met Jarret Johnson today, cool guy, he was speaking at the QB Club here in Enterprise. He's lost a good deal of weight since retiring but had some cool stories about his time at Bama and the NFL. No real point just figure I'd share with you guys.

I hope that he one day gets into coaching. He is one of my all time favorite players.

Years ago at the a Sr. Bowl event, he told me when he got done playing he wanted to start a Boys Ranch like the Croyle’s had. Wonder if that is something he still wants, or if along the way he has found other aspirations? He as always a favorite player of mine.

^^ Coaching very unlikely it seems (though he did have some motivational speaker type things to say, I recorded his speech so I might post it but its shit quality). He owns a charter boat business in Destin taking people out to fish on the sea and everything and seems like that is something he really enjoys (his dad was a fisherman and his brothers are fishermen, like for a living type stuff not for a hobby).

Didn't his dad die at sea???? I know he passed away, I was thinking that was what happened. If memory serves me correct his dad went to Marion Military Institute. Being so close to Tuscaloosa was why his dad was a Bama fan and why he ended up being a Bama fan.

He did, he was lost at sea. Jarret wasn't an Alabama fan growing up tho, he said that he really didnt follow college football as a kid. He didn't seem to want to talk about his dad too much (which I guess would be understandable all things considering).
