I'm not down on Jalen, hell I believe he played about as well as could be expected from a freshman. I said before the season started, back when there was much discussion about who would be our QB this year, I wrote that I believed that Kiffin could take either of the QB's on our roster and and possibly win the NC. I believe the coaches might should have redshirted Jalen and given Barnett or Bateman the the chance to run the show this year. I can't figure why they thought we could run the table with a running QB with few passing skills. Our coaches were probably thinking that Jalen would be a better scrambler and runner than the other two but Jalen ended up with a good many plays with no gain or loss of yardage on scrambles and called QB keepers. I have to believe the coaches knew that Barnett or Bateman either one is a better passer than Jalen but were afraid that either of them might have gotton killed on passing plays behind our porous offensive line.

Its funny how things turn out.... If Clemson doesn't score on that last drive, the narrative is completely different.

Jalen hit a wall. Period. They ALL do it, you can look back at every QB who has played for Bama just under Saban and find a 2-3 game skid when they hit a wall. It just came at a time when we played 3 solid defensive teams.

He will win a national championship at Alabama, he will own nearly all of the records for QBs at Alabama and we will remember him for a very long time.

Has it been determined whether his hands are small or not? It appears to me that he has trouble in gripping the ball. If so, do they monitor the air pressure in the ball in CFB as closely as they do in the NFL?
