You say that, but one team has truly kept us down, and that was Auburn. Clemson had a much better defense and we still were up and down the field on them. Jalen hits that touchdown pass against Georgia and we're not even discussing this. It was a very bad miss I must admit, pitch and catch even.
At this point, I wonder if we need all these multi quotes that keep following every post?
Anyway, I see you are still talking about Jalen and near misses. Here's another: All Jalen had to do to win the spring game in the last 40 seconds of the game was hit a wide-open Henry Ruggs over the middle on about a 15 to 20-yard pass and it would have been a TD. That's it. As bad as he looked all day, just hit Ruggs over the middle with one on one coverage and it was a touchdown. He threw it behind him, again and it went incomplete. Why does that story keep repeating itself?
Jalen's dad was a complete fool to say what he said to the media. Say that shit to the coach's face and behind closed doors instead of throwing your son and his teammates into the spotlight for negative reasons. I just don't like Jalen looking like the bad guy in all of this, because he has done nothing short of producing for us.
It was really poor judgment and the fact it came from a parent who is also a head coach really defies logic. But it has totally changed the narrative of what and how Bama fans feel and think about this QB battle. Everyone is just going to assume that Jalen's Dad has first-hand info that he's sharing with the world. Who wouldn't assume he speaks to his son constantly? If Jalen doesn't qualify what his Dad said or tell the fans himself what his intentions are, this will only get hotter. Otherwise, none of us are having this conversation, to begin with.
This society always wants the next best thing, and it gets ugly most of the time. Guys won't come to Alabama if they aren't appreciated by the fans for what they do for us and our school. Recruits would be pissed off to read these posts and see how we treat our players.
That was just not the narrative that Bama fans had of Jalen overall even after the natty. It's ugly because Dad said either this happens or we are out of here. I hope you can truly see how stupid, shortsighted and ridiculous that was? We have had a number of recruits leave here for different reasons. We've seen Maurice Smith's parents involved once he decided to go elsewhere. I'm sure parents are in kid's ears like Blake Barnett and Kendall Sheffield's of the world. But this is the first time I can remember where a parent has spoken so succinctly in public, on record and to the coaching staff and fans on the players future even before he decides to announce his decision. I think recruits are smart enough to understand who started this controversy.
