Its ironic that his age (well maturity) will probably be one of his biggest pluses, but on the flip side its also going to be used against him to a degree. I think his baseball skills will be invaluable to helping him translate back to football - quickness, training, etc.
Great article. I think Miller is going to continue to develop and contribute to the 2013 team. Not many people return to football after a long absence unless they have something to prove. It takes a lot of motivation just to convince yourself to come back. But I think this kid is going to be something special. And what better way to develop than to immerse yourself in an already highly touted Safety group, and coached by Saban himself!
I remember reading an article on recruiting and how Saban evaluates players. One of the the things that Saban likes in a DB is someone that has played baseball. They are better at turning around and finding the ball. I look for Miller to make an impact.
Good read!! I remember thinking that he would be a stud. I was shocked when he chose Stanford and then again when he signed with the Marlins. Good luck Jai!!
Excellent story, I'm really interested in seeing this guy. If he pans out and is good as his potential suggests I dont know many Safety groups in the country that could hold a candle to ours: Landon Collins, HaHa Clinton-Dix, Vinnie Sunseri, and Jai.
