šŸˆ It's being reported that the SEC is split on the number of conference games (8 or 9)

There wont be divisions. Everyone will rotate the same schedule as everyone else in the SEC in both proposals.

Your idea actually goes against what you are trying to say. Make it difficult on everyone and then saying let others keep easier schedules can't both be true.

I want Mercer and Ball State off the schedule more than anything is where I'm going with all this. An extra game forces Georgia to play stiffer competition. The rotating schedule fixes it inside conference play, but still doesn't solve the added cupcake unless you add the extra game, which forces them to play another SEC program.

Right. And there are really enough " cupcakes " in the SEC.

Vandy. KY. uSCe. Msu. Etc
They may have a decent team on occasion but long term not much

Dont need to add more to schedules

How is Georgia getting an "added cupcake" when everyone in the SEC has the same rotating schedule for conference play? Literally, we will see Alabama play the same conference schedule as Georgia over a four year period.

A cupcake schedule, as a coincidence, versus a tradition—like the east has been.

Ok. I think it does. Historically bamas edge vs lsu is significant.
2:1

And its a game fans want

Much more than msu
This is so simple, yet so utterly confounding how you don't see this.

You are literally, advocating, for everyone else in the SEC to have a easier schedule than the school you support. Your supporting the team you root for to be at an unfair advantage.
Vandy. KY. uSCe. Msu. Etc
You've just covered two of Tennessee's three permanent opponents: Vandy and UofSC. "Don't add any more," but lets assign these two permanently to the Vols.

I don't worry about the vols. Mid level

I would have to look at everybody's schedule to see if bamas was toughest. So i don't know that
But if anyone has to have toughest. And someone will. Then be bama.
Because historically. Bama is the best in conference. So i kinda expect more. Like most us bama fans

And whoever wants msu instead is crazy
Fuck them cow bells ( and of course. One of my schools. Lol)

You not read what I said? Alabama is playing USC, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Clemson, and others while Georgia is playing a cupcake. Add that 9th conference game and it limits their cupcakes by one. Georgia is now scheduling better, but for years they haven't. Go compare them and us this Fall.

If you will kindly recall, we're talking about the SEC schedule. But since you've moved the goal post ... I've got a strong leg. šŸ™ƒ

This discussion is about the 2024 season and thereafter. We see Clemson, UCLA, FSU, and Ohio State on Georgia's schedule.

Earlier in the thread you were worried about divisions which isn't in play. The complaints about UGA's OOC isn't as well.

What is in play is the model giving Alabama an unfair advantage in SEC scheduling. It's my main point and it's still sitting here unrefuted.

I just like playing the proposed 3.
Some think we should play msu....and thats valid with long history...but
I always thought AU, TN and LSU were our 3/top ...
iMO anyway.....
So it's fair to say you're choosing the harder path to walk for the team in spite of those steps not being ones you're taking.

To me it's crazy seeing you the most upset about losses to two teams, UT and AU, out of the eight to ten we've seen since you started posting. But, those two teams you're also wanting to give a leg up.

I am all for the 9 game schedule because I am so tired of watching one of the directional schools come to Tuscaloosa or another SEC school for money game. I also think the 9 game schedule gives the SEC an overall better chance to market bigger games, like an Oklahoma vs. Bama or A&M vs. Texas.

How would eight not accomplish the same thing?

One thing we might want to think about here as well. The amount of time windows is static. Where does the extra inventory (games) go? The XYZ+ channels.

I think it's funny to see everyone aruging with Terry only to end up agreeing with him without realizing it. LOL
I like the idea of nine SEC games a year. I don't like the current suggested format.

The idea just crossed my mind, I wonder if it would fly.

In the same spirit of UF and UGA, could a ninth SEC game be scheduled at a neutral field? IE: UT vs UofSC in Charlotte? Bama vs A&M in Baton Rouge? So we'd end up with a 4-4-1 format, both teams splitting revenue at the neutral site?

Either way, I want an extra SEC game. Don't really care what your main point was, I want more quality games, or atleast more opportunities for quality games. Can't help if we draw Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, or Missouri, but atleast we give ourselves a chance at playing Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Oklahoma more. A ninth SEC game all but assures that. With an eight team playoff coming, there shouldn't be as much concern about missing the Playoffs if we play to the standard Saban has the program playing at. We almost made the Top 4 with two losses and no conference Championship, so I'm not worried about dropping two in the best conference in the land and missing the Top 8. Kids come to Alabama to play with the best, but they also come to Alabama to beat the best, not find ways to sidestep their way to a National Championship.

I am not upset...li am still Pissed off we gave both away...period,,!!!!!!!!!!!!
As was uga nc game in21....but...ok

I dont worry about a " path"...what the heck Terry....
I love the game..the games...thats why 2020 was such a fun year...every sec team was playing sec teams...
I go to the games to see bama playing college football....not to worry about playoffs...
it is cheeries when championship occur

Much rather watch bama vs lsu...then listen to the cowbells in starkville

I much rather have lsu ....the great memorable games...than the lower tier sec teams...
And most would...i think...maybe..maybe not...

Its just IMO though

@BamaFan334 ...exactly
