I don't understand. Baylor has a football stadium issue that justifies scrapping the old stadium and building another, but the problem is not the fact that you have a stadium half the size of most SEC stadiums?

I don't get what you're driving at unless it's fans participation/following the football program.

Their average is about 15K less per game than Miss. St.

What was the issue that was so bad that it justified an entirely new stadium? It clearly was not the huge waiting list for season tickets, as the attendance will not spike with the new stadium? I'm seeing what might be skyboxes only on one side, so it can't be selling big-ticket boxes. (There has to be a pressbox in there somewhere.) Where is the gain that justifies a big money investment?

Is there current stadium a BOS that is choking the program (i.e. like the old Orange Bowl was for Miami)? Is Baylor losing its shirt renting the old stadium, making building an on-campus stadium a financially sound investment?

What I see is a nice little stadium, which says we are content with where the program is but for desiring a better view from our stadium seats. Where is benefit to the recruit/player, because I could understand a recruit asking what's in it for me? I dont see that answer either.

In short, I don't see where/how the football program is advanced by spending all this money.

From what I understand, their old stadium was just that: old.

It's not the schools money, so I don't see it as that big of a deal. But, we don't have to look any further than our own football program to see how spending money does indeed advance a program.

If they can hang on to Art Briles, they should be able to compete in the Big12. He's a good coach with little to work with.

I have my doubts it'll be anything like that when it's done.
