🏈 Is it the f** OLineman or Mario

Understandable, but I believe none of them are true freshmen. They have been in the program long enough to learn the schemes. They go against some of the best athletes in the country during practice. We get the best recruits in the country, so you cannot say they are green and therefor confused by the scheme. They just aren't producing and Big Cam is muscling through an injury. Don't make excuses for them, tell it like it is, they're grown boys, they can handle it.

You can say they are confused by the scheme. We get several high caliber recruits that everyone expects to start on day one. But they don't. They have trouble learning assignments in a much more complex offense or defense. A player must be able to physically compete, use the proper techniques, and do what they are supposed to do as a single piece of a complicated puzzle. Most of these players simply dominated physically in high school.

The players that have the best grasp of their assignments, AND are the most physical, AND use the best technique are the ones that play. Although none of them are true freshman, playing is different from practice. Everything is live. There are no do overs. I agree they aren't producing (at the level that fans want), but putting a second teamer in won't make things better.

I agree with everything you say regarding physical talent and getting by in high school on size or talent alone. I have seen our playbooks, and yes, they are more difficult than I think any of us that haven't played under Saban would ever know. BUT, after being in the program for a year or two or three, you should know what to do and what'S going on. Anything can happen on the playing field as Lord knows the defense doesn't simply go where you want them to go without fighting or blowing things up, but the guys we put on the field should be ready for the challenge. I highly doubt our coaches throw guys in the field holding their jobs in limbo if they haven't prepared them to play, especially Saban. I'm not willing to blame it on youth, because Lord knows Coker isn't being allowed to use that as an excuse because he is only playing his first year of full time ball and only his Seco d with our playbook.

Sometimes play calling, exhaustion and well rested competition can make you look slow. These guys just ran a guantlet like no other team will ever face and won them all but 1. I was aggrevated with Kiffin's calls more than anything, he put them in bad situations all day.

I know cam struggled but the whole team looked tired, slower, and mentally worn down. That first touchdown was a mental mistake by Cyrus and the big play that got the drive started for their last TD was Cyrus getting outrun across the field by their slowest receiver.. his legs were gone and he was mentally fatigued. Our most consistent cornerback was directly responsible for Tennessee scoring twice.. so did he forget how to play or was he just fatigued mentally and physically?

Is it possible that he wasn't the only one tired? Maybe Cam and the o-line were tired too? Maybe that mixed with shitty, predictable play calling and playing the 4th physical team in a row with a week off before they play us.. was enough to make us look off.

This offensive team isn't great and we should all come to grips with that but well rested and motivated the offense could be good enough to give us a chance.

Cam is struggling now, but the coaching staff sees all the practices. Their judgment is that Cam playin dinged up is better than any of the backups when they are healthy. Other than being a fan, I have no stake in who plays, or how well. The guys who have the information and whose job depends on how well these guys play have a much greater incentive than I do to get the best players on the field. I trust their judgment. I am very much opposed to dumping a coach, even an assistant coach, in mid season, unless there is some act of moral turpitude involved.

Best play call of the day on offense was the counter type play they did on Henry's last td. They set that up all day running that speed sweep or whatever it's called flipping the ball to ridley. Tennersee's lbs froze like popsicles.

A hurt best player. You're an idiot if you think he's playing as well as he did last year, not to mention he's getting more penalties called on him if I remember the statistic correctly. Allowing him To properly heal seems to be the move we need.

I guess Saban is an idiot too right? Thank God you arent the head coach.

Execution and communication all come in to play.

I thought they spent a lot of time in a five man front; especially in the first half. As soon as we started seeing two TE/HB sets the success rate changed.

That speed sweep has been setting plays up all year long.

**Something to chew on ...

Out of 128 teams listed within the college football stats site, you'll find 10 teams with more offensive snaps (by more, I mean significant as in 25-50 more. Bowling Green has roughly 90 more for one of the largest differences.)

I bring that up going to this point:

An offensive line going through close to 600 snaps/plays on the year ... just having gone through a section of the schedule that 99% of fans said was absolutely brutal a month or two ago ... going against defensive linemen who have played, likely, 33 to 40% of those snaps, and they're getting beat ...

Chances are we've got a group of guys that are ... plainly and simply, worn the hell out.

Players are resting today. Coaches are resting right now. What the hell ... maybe let some anxiety rest for a bit, eh?

You like to call everyone an idiot, so I thought you'd like to know what it's like to be called one for making as dumb as a statement as anyone can make in response to that comment. Why are 98% of your post geared at belittling someone? You that sad of an individual that has to run their mouth to feel complete and tough? I love how you have all the answers are right on everything, yet everyone else are idiots. Ha, classic.

That speed sweep hasn't worked too well, but it does set up other plays. We all need to remember that the game is like a chess match. Plays are called early in the game to set up plays later. When a defense has success on a play multiple times, they tend to over react when they see it coming again. Remember that next time when you think, "what are they doing? That play hasn't worked all day."

I want to start by saying I love this team due to their grit and fight, something I feel we've missed the last couple of years. The defense is getting back to being a complete unit. The thing I want to say is though, this line has been getting beat all year long, not just after this brutal stretch of games. Henry has made them look better than they have been performing. The Georgia game has been the only game where I feel as if they stood up and kicked butt for a game. Texas A&M is as tough as paper we'refinding out. We need this bye week to rest and get healthy. I hope to see a rejuvenated line against LSU, whom I told you preseason wold surprise folks, ;-).

They ought to at least work on one item I think would help all involved. It's a two word scheme used in many situations from construction to traffic control. It's called "LOOK OUT!" You can include the exclamation if you want. Doesn't really matter. There's quite an emphasis on both words. Guy runs past, you yell "LOOK OUT!" Piano falling from the tenth floor. "LOOKOUT!" Pit bull from a yard? "LOOKOUT!" Corner blitz? Well, you get the idea.

When the piano is falling, should you take the time to look, or just run? Watching the piano hit you is not always the best strategy.

My sentiments exactly. Our offensive line has been very inconsistent all season. Our best two oline coaches that I've seen under Saban has been Pendry and Stoutland. Coach Cristobal OL's haven't come close to olines under those guys and Cristobal is heralded as a "great recruiter" so it can't be the lack of talent. It seems either a lack of development or bad scheme. Not sure which it is but either way it falls at his feet. I'll him a pass on Cam Robinson because it's been known that Cam is playing with some injuries but overall I haven't been impressed with the Olines he's put on the field for us. Especially considering how heralded he is as a recruiter.

I think "lookout" is simply code for "run". The action is implied by the statement. You could say "uh-oh". Same number of syllables. I suppose if you yelled "run" it might be quicker than "lookout". But using that logic, you could probably use a short obscenity. That's what I was saying during all the sacks, so the team could follow my lead. I'd be honored.

I dont LIKE calling anyone anything and I rarely do it... but I calls em like I sees em... And probably 50% of the whiners we have in this fan base first assumption is to fire a coach or put the next player in. Off game, bench his ass. He was sick, bench his ass. That shit gets tiresome and annoying. If another player would have been better in that spot, dont you think Saban would have put him there? But no you and so many others thing you know better and then have the audacity to say Im a know-it-all... And I have no idea wtf you mean by "complete and tough" and even that Im running my mouth. This is a discussion forum, thats what we do is run our mouths... but how am I acting tough? You know what, dont answer that because I dont care...

I never said "bench his ass". I never said "fire" anyone. Maybe you outta read what you're responding to instead of getting hot headed and calling people names like a child instead of using your vocabulary to get a point across. You think Adam Griffith is the best kicker we have or do you think Saban is putting the best guy out there, before Raborn got nailed with drugs? Coaches don't always make the right choices, hence why they get fired time to time. You a blind loyalist?

By complete and tough I mean the fact you gotta call someone a name and act like a badass so at the end of the day you can look at yourself and smile thinking your day was great. Plenty of people out there like that. I'm looking back and posts and I'm struggling to find a happy Birdman that isn't calling someone out, so that'S where my opinion was formed.

And you rarely call anyone names? Come on man, you'Re better than that and people here know you'Re the asshole that will come in and start bitching and going off on people. I've seen comments with people waiting on you to chime in knowing you'll start calling people names and criticizing them. I personally don't care if you want to know that or you don't want to know of that, but I wanted it to be out there so read if you want, don't read if you want.

You know, with all of these teams having bye weeks before they play us,Saban should just lay off our guys some.If he knows that these teams have these byes and it's an advantage for them, then just give our players a day off here and there to help with fatigue.
