Is Bobby Petrino already feuding with his $5 million DC at Louisville?

As part of a notebook column published Monday, Sports Illustrated had a section on Louisville that reported new head coach Bobby Petrino is feuding with new defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.

From SI's report:

Sources with ties to the Cardinals’ football program and Petrino said there’s significant friction between Petrino and feisty defensive coordinator Todd Grantham. The two have feuded often since Grantham’s hiring in January.

So much that one source insists Petrino would have already gotten rid of Grantham if not for his guaranteed five-year contract that pays him nearly $1 million annually. He came to Louisville after four seasons as Georgia’s defensive coordinator. “He’s stuck with him,” a source said.​

This will be an interesting soap opera to follow. Sounds like CBP is pre-handling the reasons if they lose a lot of games.

Grantham came in hot over at Georgia but calmed down after some time. I think it's what makes college football great, but remember when he gave the choke symbol to the Florida kicker and almost got into with Janes Franklin after the Vanderbilt game? He calmed down tremendously after those two events. It'll calm once the season gets going and he learns his spot.

Evidence, not opinion, leads me to believe Petrino is handcuffing his defense in practices again. It would, as it should, make any defensive coordinator upset.
