I'm a little nervous about our team. We just had a huge emotional let down and it may be difficult to get fired up for the Utes.

I think we have the best coach for focus and motivation but kids are kids.

Is anyone else worried that we may come out flat against a very good team in Utah?

No way I think if nothing else our guys are going to want to make a statement against Utah and prove something to the nation as well as themselves.

Giving Coach Saban 3 to 4 weeks to prepare for a game = great chance that you will win. I doubt we will take Utah lightly, nor do they need to be taken lightly. They won 12 games. I like our chances.

There is a nearly a month off in between the games... after a fall camp like string of practices coming up, they are going to be very hungry to play whoever they can.

Also, the Seniors understand and appreciate the stage that this game will be played on. Is it the BCS Championship game? No. But it is the Sugar Bowl in the Dome... a place BAMA used to call their holiday home. It is a far cry from playing in the Independence Bowl. With the activities and attention that surrounds this game, compared to the Indy Bowl, it is going to feel like a NC game to these guys.

Additionally, keep in mind, these loses and even the wins, tend to sting (or stay with) the fans longer than they do the players. Most of them were over it late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. If the players have an issue, it is usually looking ahead to opponents, not looking back.

Like Porter said, they'll be tired of hitting and beating up on eachother for a month, and be ready to hit someone else. The players, especially the seniors, will want to end the season the right way.

Maybe if they played them this weekend or next....team should be healthy and pretty ticked off by bowl time.

Thats what we thought after we played UGA or LSU....
NICK will have em ready!!

Imagine giving NICK 3 weeks to only focus on one team. Im so glad he is our coach!!!

The Utes having lost a bowl game in eight years, so they aren't too bad with a month of preperation either.

If I were a bama fan, I would assume that the tide would roll, but I would be scared of a let-down. Anytime a team has that long to prepare they can find something. I am curious how willing Coach Meyer will be to help his old team game plan as well.

With that said, let me reiterate that if I were a bama fan, I would be comfortable right now.

While the coaching staff will start looking at film and coming up with a game plan, the team (in practices) won't start work on Utah for another 2 weeks plus. I'd imagine, the game prep will start the 26th or 27th.

The next two weeks will be a lot like an off week during the regular season with the team working on fundamentals...you can also expect some of the younger guys getting more work this week as well. (IE: center position, safety position replacing Rashad, etc.)

I think that Meyer will be worried about another team before yours...and do you really need his help to win?? I can give you guys game type on VHS if you need it. :D

If you give a team 3 weeks, i don't care who the coach is, its a good long time to really study a team.

I'm just kidding about the Meyer thing. Its funny to hear people around here talkiing about it though. :)

Getting his input on our defensive reads would be a smart thing to do...

I be more worried if the game were this weekend. I feel like they may be a little let down. All in all though, this is still a big game we can't blow. It's been a super great season and I feel like the coach will have them prepared when the time comes.

I just do see him worrying alot about our game when he has a pretty big one coming up. :)

I've seen it mentioned in a few articles that the two talk often...I'd imagine the game has come up. How much detail? Hard to say.

Staff's that have worked together in the past often have conversations like that...
