🏈 Iron Bowl---one last thought

I'm glad Saban was emphatic on going for the touchdown instead of settling for a field goal. I think Auburn would have won if they only needed a FG to beat Bama. But when the Tide went up by five points, that totally changed what they had to do.

No TD, no Iron Bowl victory. That's my take on it.

:td: Amen Tommy you got it.If we wouldn't've coach Cheesenip woulda pulled out some trick play **** and woulda got 56 yards then a FG and a Win

You may be right, but at the same time I wonder what would have been if Bama Defense was playing to defend against them getting into field goal range vice defending against them getting into the endzone.

Both sides you have played that situation differently.

Yep, I hate prevent.

My father-in-law said it best regarding prevent defense. Prevent usually prevents your team from winning.

I coached high school ball for 13 years and my feelings have always been the same about a prevent, it prevents you from winning. as a former QB, I loved seeing the prevent because I knew plays could be made and eventually the game be won.
