šŸˆ Iron Bowl day in Tuscaloosa: 28,000 cars, 7,000 lbs of nachos, 18,000 water bottles...and a...

i was reading the comments posted on that article on another site. someone on there said:

85: percentage of fans in the stadium that did not attend the school

since when did being a fan mean that you HAD to attend the school? if that's true, then why are there little kids who are fans. those kids should be told that they can't pull for a team until they get into college and then they have to pull for that team. i suspect they are an auburn fan as i hear them spit that vile. A LOT!

on the same note, why are there fans of pro teams? are all those fans former members of those pro teams?

just idiotic, asinine vitriol if you as me.

I think they meant without students there would be no college football. You can have pro teams without having schools or any previous affiliation.

I only use the "you didn't go to school there" argument if another person tries to belittle the education or when someone from another fanbase pushes me too far and they deserve what they ask for.
