🏈 Interesting ideas for uniform changes

If we ever get to the point where we have to "jazz" up the uniform in order to get recruits..........
1) The program will have slipped into irrelevance
2) Saban will be dead
3) I will discontinue watching college football
:fear:

Nebraska has jumped the shark and joined the uniform craze.

Don't blame Nike. It wasn't them. Notice that Nike, Adidas or Under Armour aren't on any of the uniforms.

Who is responsible for that mess then? I thought they were showing what some of the traditional uniforms COULD look like if we changed. Not a fan of any of them, some things you don't mess with. I personally would not have a problem if we used an old style or helmet that we have used before but I am against the new fad of changing just for change.

I love these threads.

The forum thread, not the uniform "threads."

I'm not a fan of major changes to the uniforms. Subtle changes like the uniforms from a few years ago with the flag on the shoulder and the A on the pants, and the houndstooth collar from the Shula era.....those are ok. This isn't Oregon football, and that stuff needs to stay on the westcoast. But, i wouldn't mind maybe seeing a LITTLE gray incorperated in to the uniform somehow

The school colors are Crimson and white. Not Crimson, white and gray. Putting gray into the mix would put us on the same level as Tennessee.

@OldPlayer Adding to what 16 posted here ... this is from UA on web design.

School Colors
Designers are encouraged to employ prominent use of the school colors on their Web pages.

  • UA crimson is Web color #990000.
  • UA "warm gray" is Web color #eeeeee or #cccccc.

In a manner of speaking,it is. Some ,if not all, of the guys wear shirts underneath their jerseys that show the ends of the sleeves. The shirts are always grey. I think that is part of the uniform.

Yeah, but i was meaning something on the jersey or pants. After i said that, it hit me that someone might point out the facemasks. I wasn't even thinking about the undershirts, even though i do have one myself that i wear under my jersey for every game. Lol

I hear/see what the use of color regulations say, but the official school colors are crimson and white, with no gray.

Primary color : Crimson
Secondary color: White:
Tertiary color: Gray

We just don't rely the tertiary color as an identifier as some other schools who may, for instance, have the primary color as navy, the secondary color as white and their tertiary color as a burnt orange. Even though the fan-base ignorantly believes that orange is the primary color for their school.

As with any major organization, Alabama is very concerned with the "Walmart" items that come out and don't represent Alabama correctly (logos, red vs. crimson). That's why Terry P's post about specific colors:
  • UA crimson is Web color #990000.
  • UA "warm gray" is Web color #eeeeee or #cccccc.
gives what is approved by the university. It doesn't mean that gray is an official color, but if used, it must be that specific color/shade of gray.

Tell Nick and Nike to stop using that Walmart stuff, and to stop it right now!
