I was listening to the local sports radio show on my way in this morning. They have Finebaum on every Monday to talk with them. Well of course,"The OD" as well as Finbacum are all in NOLA for the big game tonight. In his interview Finebaum had an interesting comment that I though warranted re-stating. Finebaum stated while interviewing Kirby Smart that an assistant of came up and sort of pulled him off to the side. He said he didn't hear what was said, but Smart told the assistant, "Oh well, that is his loss". Finebaum restarted the interview with "Is everything alright coach?" Smart said a kid had called and said he wanted to commit. Obviously a day late and a dollar short. I think that speaks volumes to where we are with this class. I have no idea about the numbers and how they will fall, or who we have left on the board, but either way. The future looks bright.

On a side note, every year CNS sems to save one recruit for national signing day.(All part of that positive publicity for UA) We always manage to land a 5* on that day. My hope is that Green-Beckham will be that last ringer for us. Either way, we are locked and loaded.

If there were unlimited scholarships, Player X would have been offered. There was not a slot for one of two reasons.

1) There are no slots left free;or
2) Player X is not good enough to severe are ties with someone we once thought was good enough to offer.

If we have no more slots, that is good news because no one we want enough to commit to ourselves needs to wait to the last minute to commit to us.

If Player X is not good enough, then we finish better than we even thought it might.

It also could say something about our efforts with Landon Collins.

I thought about this yesterday afternoon and last night during the game. Jordan Jenkins made his announcement last night that he would pick UGA over BAMA and Florida. Now just maybe, the kid was Jenkins calling to say he was going elsewhere and Smart's commit was more of a "well, you made your choice and it will be your loss and not ours"!

I don't know for sure, but I think we might be able to squeeze one more in, but it would be a very short list (Goldman, Winston). Looking at the last two commits (Jones, Collins) we weren't exactly doing badly at safety or wr with this group, so we would only have taken a super stud at either of those positions. Our LB class was already great, so the window for Jenkins to commit was a very short period that probaly closed at the Under Armor game.
