Cherry came to Arkansas but never got much of a shot to play under three coaches in three years, so he transferred to Murray State and played two years for Nutt. The Racers went 22-3 and won consecutive Ohio Valley Conference championships.
"When he leaves, Frank Broyles will be known in Arkansas, not for winning a national championship, he will be known for selecting Houston Nutt as head coach if he does that," Cherry said. "But if he brings in some slappy like that [Tuberville], it will be all downhill.
"Yes, he's won. But that's at Ole Miss. Arkansas is a whole different land."
