🏈 Insane story from KU: Alleges Miles covered up for multiple players that were threatening a teammates life after he exposed them for selling drug

We need more character in college football and les characters

Oklahoma running back Mikey Henderson has been dismissed from the team, Sooners coach Lincoln Riley said Tuesday.

Henderson was identified as the third member of an alleged robbery on April 15 along with then-OU players Seth McGowan and Trejan Bridges, according to public information officer Sarah Jensen of the Norman, Oklahoma police department.

Sheesh, Oklahoma has had more dismissals in the last few years than I recall anywhere in a long while. I actually felt the Fulmer Cup was going away more because conduct was getting better, not that a formula was too difficult. You aren't hearing as much about players getting popped for things like they used too. Too bad now it's major coverups and athletic departments in the news.

Curious question crosses my mind. Would the Fulmer Cup folks have to pay athletes because they are using their name?

If you're reporting on the public actions of athletes, their actual game performances, do you believe NIL comes into play? If someone pins an article entitled, "Our Picks for The Pick", an article about the most prolific INT throwers in college, does that cross a line? What if the aubrun QB was deemed the winner, and they added in a zinger regarding his Milo's endorsement, like, "how'd he like that cup of tea" or "he should endorse huckleberry turnovers".

I'd say no.

I'd call what you're suggesting as "news." In the case of the FC, are they not using their name to promote their product?

FWIW, I've wondered about the same on sites like 247, etc. They're certainly using the name, image, and likeness of players to promote their product.

IF this does filter down to high school athletics what happens to sites like HUDL?
