🏈 In memory of our good friend, Jimbo (aka BamaBo, Bo) Davis

I am not sure if anyone outside of our Fantasy Baseball league has heard but our good friend, Bo, has passed away at the way too early age of 45. He passed on May 18th and the news came as a shock to most of us who have known Bo for many years now.

On a personal note, I only had one opportunity to meet Bo face to face but spoke to him many times over the phone and even more through forums just like this one. Bo was a good man, a good friend. He was just one of those guys that you knew had your back if you needed him to have it. He lost his wife several years ago to cancer and he remained strong for his family and his son who just graduated high school one week after his passing. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Davis family and all of his friends.

I'll miss you, my friend.

Man this sucks, Bo was a cool guy. Never got to meet him in person, but judging from his post in here here, he would have a nice guy too meet.

This is the last post I could find from him:
Bent. Definatley. And I have to resist the urge to snatch the hat off of peoples head that wear threm straight to put a bend in the bill for them.

R.I.P

I met Bo in the mid to late Nineties on Tide Fans message board. Anyways, Chop and I were involved with a new message board called Tide Talk, Bo came over with us there. We all eventually started our own called Crimsontusks which is now this wonderful board RollTideBama. Bo was one of the beginning pieces to all this we have now. Loyal is not even the word to describe him, If I made a mistake or did something he thought needed improvement or changed he made no bones in getting a hold of me about it. ( Which I was grateful to have that kind of friendship with him) and I am very fortunate to be able to call him my friend. You see, Bo was top shelf, stand up guy, loved Bama, Atlanta Braves ( we would give him Hell about all the Braves he had on his Fantasy Baseball Roster), loved his wife and kids, you couldn't find a bad thing to say about him, cliche' but all true. Without people like him, this board would of never made it this far. He has been a staff member here from the beginning and made this a better place, for that I thank him. Love ya man, may you Rest in Peace bro.

I haven't been able to get my mind off it since we found out. Bo was one of the most positive and fun loving guys on earth. While his love for Bama was great, his love for his family was as immeasurable. Back in April I was trying to get him to come to the A-Day tailgate, he told me that he wanted to come, but that his son was gonna be playing in a HS playoff game(s) that weekend. I as much as I wanted to see Bo, and it had been a while, I'm glad he got to see his son play those games that day instead. And I'm glad for his son. We lost a really good one folks... and I'm not just talking about this board, or Alabama as fans, I'm talking about the world. Bo was about as good as God made them. I was honored to call him a friend, and I will miss him dearly.

God Bless you Bo & Roll Tide my friend...

So sad to hear this .. I didn't know Bo (or most of you!) in real life, but he always seemed like a real nice fella. I am sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Roll tide, Bo.

I was shocked to find out Jimbo had passed away as well. I too, met him several years back at A-day through this board. Like everyone said, he was a great person. He will certainly be missed.

Folks, be sure to tell your loved ones, just how much you love them. None of us are guaranteed our next breath.

Bo was a great guy, as everyone here has already attested to. I don't know what else to add other than that Bo was THAT guy that all of us have known at least once of in our lifetime. Bo was that guy that everyone loved. The guy that never made an enemy or ever said "BOO" to anyone. Just an all-around great person. One of those persons that if you don't like him, there's something wrong with you. Just bottom line. If you didn't like Bo, you had a problem with yourself. On a side note, I would like to point out that this is the second member of our baseball league that we have lost in the last year (roughly). I can't end this without mentioning "Stanner" or as his handle is....CapstoneStan. I know that TerryP probably knows/remembers Stanner from his days there on TideFans.com. Stanner played with us in the baseball league for 10 years or so, but never left TideFans.com. He was loyal to the site and never followed us over to become a part of this one, yet was a great friend, who everyone loved. Stan died in a moter vehicle accident with a drunk driver. I might have my facts mixed up (and someone please correct me) but that occurred Thanksgiving week a year ago. Truly saddened by the departure of great friends.

I am beyond saddened to hear of Bo's passing. I met Bo with Kirk, Keith and Brandon at Aday many, many moons ago. At that time this site was known as crimsontusks and was just getting going well. While I have not always been active on the site here, I have always kept an eye on you guys and made sure all was well. One of the ways I did this was via Bo. I talked to him over the phone often and was lucky enough to even meet him a time ortwo as I traveled to the beach or whatever might bring nme through Montgomery.Bo was a man in every sense of the word. He loved his wife and was by her side to the very end of her battle. Always encouraging her, loving her all the while playing Mr. Mom, working 10 hour shifts and being a big time contributors to this site in its early days. Make no mistake about it.... This site would not exist if not for Jimbo. Rest in peace brother... The impact you have had on so many lives is amazing and something for your entire family to be proud of. I love you man and I sure will miss those random texts during ball games. My favorite? "Doesn't Shula know that he is standing on MY sidelines?"

If this post is full of errors, please excuse me.... I did it from my phone which seems to have a mind of its own.

RTR,
