🏈 I'm just gonna say, I wish the TV folks wouldn't show injuries like they do

I was watching the game when it happened & I kept swearing that they never showed what happened. Did they?

Also, the commentators sucked balls!!! Big time!

The entire crew, from camera's to commentary, to producers sucked! They got overwhelmed with the situation & in doing so rolled around in the poo! It was embarassing & grotesque at once.

I finally saw it. It is on par w/ Prothro's injury. I wouldn't say that we shouldn't act like it didn't happen but I've seen players hurt much less seriously during football games & CBS pretty much gave the player, team, & family protection w/ commercials instead of staring at that entire thing like rubbernecking in traffice. This CBS crew should be embarrassed.

The mere fact they were all dumbfounded (you could tell b/c all the camera direction would do is find sobbing people) should have had them going to commercial. Come back, show the kid is being treated, & another commercial.

Just don't exploit a cituation due to either being braindead or intentional. Neither are appropriate, both are incompetent.

I was appalled that they kept showing it numerous of times with hardly a commercial in. They showed the injury like 5-6 times then kept showing people crying and different reactions like the bench and opposing players. Made me cringe and I hope the kid heals great, but my heck CBS should be embarrassed.

I was watching, and I don't remember seeing it more than the first time/actual time it occurred. I just remember seeing the L'ville bench recoil/vomit, and the L'ville players sobbing on the court, and Pitino crying, and audience members near hysterics. It was BRUTAL. I imagine they kept the focus on the game instead of going to a commercial break because all of the TV viewers were probably horrified and wanted to make sure he was OK. At the sports bar I was at, no one realized what exactly had happened (there was no volume), and the way folks were reacting, some thought it was much more serious than it was (not to say a shin bone protruding from one's skin is not horrific, but one woman who didn't see the injury thought he broke his neck or something). The camera crew may also have been in shock. Literally, everyone in my restaurant froze and went silent: even the waiters stopped in their tracks. It was like a movie or something.

On the bright side, Ware called his teammates over and told them to not worry and to win the game- and they did, in excellent fashion. The poor kids looked shellshocked for a good 5 minutes after the injury. One of them wore Ware's jersey in the 2nd half, and they held it up in the post game photo shoot. As of this morning, Ware has had his surgery; bone is reset and has a rod in place. Coach Pitino stayed with him all night, and Ware's teammates stopped by to give Ware the trophy.

Stuff like this is absolutely terrible but sometimes it brings out some of the reasons we love sports so much to begin with: the community, the love, and the loyalty.

But that was literally the worst sports injury I have ever seen happen live.

It is right there with Prothro's injury v Florida and Theisman's on Monday night football for gruesomeness.

Prayers for Kevin Ware, and props to the Louisville Family for how they handled this, and the love they showed for their fallen teammate.

Yeah you're exaggerating big time, they showed the injury replay twice... the only thing they replayed more than that was the player reactions.

They showed it three times. Obviously I exaggerated a bit, but point being showing it over and over was useless and pointless

They showed the injury twice, from different angles... I mean I can post the video of the actual broadcast... and they replayed it to show what happened. Not pointless, you may not like it but more than a few people actually want to see what happened in times like that. I, myself, am not one of them because stuff like that makes me want to vomit. I do not find it disrespectful in the least bit and I dont think anyone can make a logical excuse as to how it is. Now, had they replayed it over and over and slow motioned it and zoomed in on the bone breaking or whatever, yeah then you would have a case.

Dude's family doesn't want to see it if they're watching at home

When Prothro hurt his ankle they went to commercial and didnt show it several times and show everybody's reaction. Same thing could've been done yesterday with that kid. I don't care how you slice it there was no need to keep showing it and everybody's reaction other than to keep showing all yahoos at home, so that the "more than a few people" get to see it because they want to
