and that college coach is none other than John Blake (current UNC coach...same school that the player that paid for Marcel's ticket plays for...) who screwed up the OU program before Stoops got there.

Now, get this...

SOS is one of the major finger pointers at Blake. As a friend of mine said just this morning..."once that bastard gets on you he doesn't let go..." referring to SOS. Think DuBose...hmmm.

It's just what I'm hearing...

"Sons of Saban"?

Yikes. When your lies start getting in the way of your lies it doesn't look so good.

I really don't care about any of this.....except the longer it takes for the NCAA to figure all this out the longer Marcel Darius will be affected. :frown:

Just looks like there is too much smoke to not be a fire.

The NCAA can move glacially slow at times. Some of you may remember mid nineties basketball player James "Hollywood" Robinson. James didn't score quite high enough on his ACT the first go around, so he took it again (after taking a course on how to take such tests) and did well. Unfortunately he did too well and the NCAA invalidated his new score. He enrolled as a prop 48 (could practice and go to class but couldn't play in games) but his family, outraged by the NCAA action, hired an attorney and went after the NCAA. The NCAA dithered and delayed until the case was about to get to court, then finally relented and declsred him eligible. The only problem was that the basketball regular season was over and we were in the NCAA tournament. I certainly hope that this doesn't happen to Marcell.

I don't know if Blake is all that guilty of anything, though he and the agent in question have some past ties that they are playing down. That seems like an admission of guilt to something. Really, this whole Marvin Austin thing is turning into a mess with UNC. It's like, he's their Albert Means or something. except that this kid might actually turn out to be a big time football player. Listening to Rivals radio the other day, a talent evaluator for the NFL was high on him, but quick in pointing out that he's not ready at all for that kind of pressure yet, and that he's still being dominated at times by collegiate players.

What a bunch of mess. I think Dareus will get to play, but I don't think it'll be week one.

Here's something I think we need to take into account with MD...with the noise that Saban is raising right now about agent contact I've got a feeling the NCAA will move more quickly on his case/eligibility than say Wesley Saunders at USCe. (FWIW, they're looking at more than one player at USCe for eligibility issues)

It's just a thought...50-50 chance I'm wrong on this one...but, it's a thought...
