šŸˆ I’m crying. "He's dumb, but he's fast."

Croom a lot more so than Dubose. In all honesty, I think the success Bama has experienced under Saban makes it easier to forgive these guys.

I honestly feel that Dubose thought he was ready, but absolutely crumbled under the pressure of trying to please everyone. It is like the famous saying that Stallings had. When you start listening to the fans, it won't be long before you are one of them.

I think Dubose had some administrative issues. (Not the secretary kind either). Dubose didn't know how to handle all the fluff that comes with being a coach. Donors/Alum. Delegating to your coaches and making sure that this is not a democracy, it is dictatorship and I'm the head dick. If you don't like doing it my way, then go somewhere else. Last but not least, University administration. For him, it was a perfect storm of everything coming unraveled.

Had a patient (can not remember his name) that had worked in the athletic office for many years. He swore up and down to me that Dubose was set up by the power people with the secretary ordeal. For lack of a better term, politics, in order to have him over a barrel.

One, the latter, put Alabama on probation. The other tried to get Bama in trouble with the NCAA by turning UA in for the width of a media guide.

Personally, if an individual is trying to get UA in trouble? For something as trivial as the width of a tab?

Hell, let's bring Neil Calloway in and his lawsuit against UA after he'd been fired for the "Dubosian era." He played at Bama as well but doesn't fit "gump" in my view.

He was an assistant at Auburn for quite a while. I remember Finebaum getting wore out by Pat Dye about Calloway and his ability to coach/not coach. One of the many times Pat Dye gave Finebaum an ear full and hung up on him.

"You might know about running a radio program and writing a newspaper article, but you don't know a damn thing about coaching.........click."

We're chalking that one up to "the time Paul was right?" šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø :ROFLMAO:

(I'd take Calloway over Connelly every day of the week.)
