šŸˆ I'm by no means freaking out going into the Ole Miss weekend because of the use of a 4 letter word.

We all know turnovers is what cost us both loses to Ole Miss so I would be lying if I said I were not worried. Not that we are turning it over this season, but we weren't the past two seasons either going into that game. Young guys can either make mistakes or play with no fear....I am hoping for the later :-)

I think Bama have the QB at hand. I do think he start slow right now, maybe because he still getting use to being Bama QB. He also got to zero in on the receivers too.

I think he was being more cautious in order to avoid an INT like he got last week.

I also find it cool that the coaches trusted him enough to give him 30 plus attempts to develop him and hopefully get him ready for SEC play.

I'm totally stocked about Hurts. He is LEGIT & provided he doesn't get hurt, then his future is bright. The O-Line needs to get their crap together on these reps.

Put Piersbacher back at center, place the OLINE against the D ones & see who can at least make the right calls & not be penalized.

Jalen is gonna break the Rebelbearshark curse of the last couple seasons.

@TerryP How many of the penalties do you think could have been avoided with more experience and reps?

I know it isn't directed at me, BUT I would say that about 8-10 of those were avoidable penalties.

The holding on Cotton and illegal block on Stewart could have gone either way with a break ... but, no doubt Stewart blocked him in the back and Cotton took him to the ground (both had what I'd call extenuating circumstances.)

Williams roughing call? Can't fault him. He couldn't see the ball was out of the QB's hands.

So, I'll go 8 of the 12 at the max.

Yo SLO, I've been well - hope you've been well too. I recently had some big life changes (moved, quit job, started grad school, etc.) so I disappeared for a bit. But I'm back - yall can't get rid of me that easy! :p

Well, good to have you back.

Woolyal is back up and running, as a few of the guys here that were from there alerted me. I've just grown to really like this pacle over here, so it's my home now.

And hopefully a few more "reverse drinking games", like I had during the Clempsum natty game, will be conducted this year as well...lol.

Not sure exactly what you're trying to say Terry... If Reps is the solution to the penalty/OL/ issue... And one week is enough to solve the problem... Then why are we just now getting to those reps despite a long pre season with plenty of live scrimmage time and now 2 live bullets?

I'm with you in that this team is going to improve, and would expect the OL to. Just dumbfounded on how Piersbacher has now been pegged for 3 positions (center, LG, bench) despite being an all league type player at ANOTHER position.

There are question marks beyond just reps. For sure

Hold on. I never said anything about one week being enough time to solve some of these issues. Timing, as example, is developed over ... time. The way an offensive line develops—or gels if you prefer—happens over the course of a season.

Penalties, like these false starts? That can be solved and solved quickly.

As to the rushing attack we're seeing from the GCG combination? How many reps have these three had together? Cotton, Bozeman, and Ross P.? That combination, mind you. Then we're adding Shank in the mix, flipping positions with Ross to RG from C ... see where I'm going? They've had reps, but these five, at these positions, haven't seen as many reps as I'd call ideal.

I'd have to sit and count, but I'm wondering how many different combinations were seen on the line this fall.
I'd have to sit and count, but let's look at QB's, RB's, OL, and all those combinations ... how many were there?

Reps.

To get Cotton on the field. That's my supposition. I've heard nothing but really good things about LC since he's been on campus.

Covered most of those, yes?

Still ... not freaking out going into this game. In fact, like the teams chances.
