After the way we've played against LSU and Texas A&M...I have some concerns about Georgia! There are a lot of on here that know a whole lot more than I, so I would like to know how Alabama would match up against Georgia and the odds you place on Alabama winning?!

Georgia is alot like LSU but with a better offense... and if we dont get right on defense it could be trouble. Cant overlook Georgia at all. They're alot like us, physical defense and physical offensive line and running game with an explosive passing game. Very balanced.

It's a 50/50 shot! Gonna be a VERY close game.

Which Georgia team shows up is the question?

Talent wise, in terms of athletes, they are as close as any team in the SEC to being on par with Bama and LSU.

On one hand, you have a team capable of putting a very good game together. On the other hand, you've got a team that has only done so three times over the last 17/18 times they've played a top 20 football team. They may have won four now with the win over Florida.

50/50 can also be called Jekyll and Hyde, ying and yang...you choose the term.

If we are playing to our capability, this game isn't close. There's a far better chance for Bama to be playing to the level we've seen this year than Georgia playing to their capability.

They've played two teams of note this year. UofSC where they were blown out and UF where they were practically given the game and still struggled to get a W in the end. I don't see anyway possible we have six turnovers like Florida did.

Take those six turnovers. Take the point they had over 130 yards in penalties they gave up that game. Take the fact they only converted one third down in the entire game. Take the fact they only completed 50% of their passes for that game.

That's their signature win on the season?

Murray is having his best season to date. He's also playing the easiest schedule he's ever seen at UGA.

I do think Georgia has the ability to have a good game against Bama but I can only give them a 50-50 shot they'll bring it.

if uga comes out and does well running the ball initially, it will be a long game and close possibly. if we shut down their running game, it's over.

i'm interested to see how our offense plays against their defense. i think they are a bit overrated on their front 7. i do, however, think their secondary is pretty good.

i think Bama will opt to run the ball a whole lot against them... i hope so.

i didn't watch their game with usc. what happened there?

I agree with Terry. Nobody has any idea which Georgia team will show up.

One of the things that sticks out in my head is how many times has Georgia actually played to their potentional and talent level? Other than against low ranked or non ranked teams I can't think of a time where they have done so in the last three or so years. Like Terry said against Florida (their signature win) they still damn near lost the game and Florida did everything they could to give Georgia the game and they still managed to damn near lose it.

If the Alabama team that played up until the LSU game shows up it isn't close. But, if the Alabama that played LSU and aTm shows up then the game will close and Georgia could pull it off, but I don't see that happening

Totally agree. My GA alumni friends were just calling for MRs firing a few weeks ago and throughout the past couple seasons. Their fan base is tormented by their unpredictable "Jekyll and Hyde" performances so says buddy Jay..

Our success against UGA will be predicated upon our ability to run on their defense (thus opening up the passing game a little bit) and our ability to stuff their running game (thus making them one dimensional)...I know, it's obvious, but so true.

I think one of the voids that we've really been missing on defense this year that not many people are talking about is in the middle of our LB's. We have LOADS of talent at LB, but we don't have a Rolando McClain or a Donte Hightower that can take on guards and stop them dead in their tracks.

I know this is being nit-picky, because this defense is laying pretty well this season and that defense last year really was one of the best ever, but it's true...we tend to struggle a bit when power running teams run straight at us. I don't want to use names because that's probably not fair, but I think there are one or two guys that the staff would like to see step in to this role and be the "alpha" LB out there. They just haven't gotten to that level yet.

Bottom line, right now our team's goal should be to continue improving. I think everyone knows we SHOULD beat Auburn handily, but we need to continue to get better during this week, and the week off, so we're back to playing with confidence by the time we get to the SECCG against UGA.

They were down 21-0 before they could blink and pretty much quit.

UofSC took their first possession and scored in a little over two minutes. About 90% of the drive was on two pass plays.

Turnover with an INT from Murray followed by a long drive by UofSC to go up 14-0. Two incomplete passes from Murray which ended up with a punt, returned for a TD.

Halfway through the first quarter and they were down 21-0.

Georgia's seven points in the game were scored with about four minutes left in the fourth quarter.

On that note, and combining a few of the stories and rumors we are reading.

We are about 14 months removed from all the rumors of Jon Gruden heading to Georgia to replace Richt.

I don't think Georgia's offensive line is as physical as LSU's or Alabama's...They just don't look scary to me...

Passing wise, yeah Aaron Murray could give us fits, especially if we don't get off the field on 3rd down..But if they can't run the ball, its pretty predictable, and Murray has been turnover prone.

I think we match-up well when we're on offense with them, Jarvis Jones vs Kounj. should be intriguing
