Yes special teams and turnovers will determine this game. Unfortunately, I think LSU wins this one. 19-13. I think we will suffer at the qb position and although both our O and D lines are bigger, LSU's depth is too deep and fast. I can handle 1 loss, I just hate that it is going to be to LSU. I'm still pissed off at Auburn for ruining my parlay this past weekend...so, I haven't really started looking at LSU in depth.

Honestly, I'm still chuckling off of the "10 reasons LSU will win" thread...as soon as I get my head back on straight I'll offer some thought up.

Ehehehe....here's one. The LSU'er mentioned their road/night game record only reflecting one loss...since Saban has been here, we've lost one game—out of 52 mind you—when we've had a running back go for 100+ yards.

Half-Ass? Great running game (check out the 200+/game against Bama a couple of times recently), better down-field passing game than Bama, Lee is one of most efficient passers in NCAA, AND the only one in the top 20 with only ONE INTERCEPTION!

Nope, ain't gonna happen. Not enough experience yet, although he's playing well. Hasn't seen a decent defense all year. Blitzes, speedy, disguised coverages, and pressures and sacks are in his future. I predict two INT's--could be the difference in the game.

We will win because your 2 QB's will be paying more attention to Upshaw and Hightower than to what their receivers are doing.

Maybe some of the time--similar to what I said above about AJ and LSU defense--our QB's have more experience though. Jefferson easier to rattle, although I doubt Les will have him airing it out much. He was able to run on Bama last year, though.

No doubt Saban is the best coach around--I LOVED the guy at LSU. But given a long time to prepare few teams and coaching staffs have been able to gameplan and perform better than Les and company, dolt that he can be sometimes.

While they are amusing and in the playbook--remember last year?--anyone watching knows LSU hasnt' needed these to win games.

In summary, turnover battle wins this game, as "cliche" as it sounds. That is, assuming the refs give LSU an interception if near the sideline...:lol:

Statistics are hard to get a feel for how good these teams really are, especially LSU, since they played Florida & Tennessee that had their best players hurt in the offense. Same could be said for 'Bama against Tennessee. However, the biggest thing that stands out to me is LSU pass D. If anyone thinks WVU pass offense is much better than 'Bama's then many people will be surprised. I stand convinced AJ has been kept under moderate locks w/ the passing game by design, for several reasons. One of those being the fact that he is a first year starter that needs to be eased in, second we have the best O-line and running backs in the league (no, LSU's isn't as good 'Bama), & third we are playing close to the vest. And if anyone says that AJ hasn't played any real D, well they'd be wrong b/c he faces the best pass D five days a week; I'm certain LSU cannot cover or disguise like 'Bama. Does this mean he will not make mistakes, not necessarily, but if he does he will know how to handle it.

AJ definitely grew a lot in the Tennersee game and that's for sure, he finally hit a long pass, he made a great decision to run for the TD rather than just float one up, etc

Wasn't it a fake punt last year that turned the "tide" so to speak and really helped you guys win? all LSU has is trick plays, if they didn't run the trick plays and only ran their base offense, they'd be 3 and out 9 times out of 10 against Bama this year

Interestingly enough, I've seen a lot of things—about our game—that have brought me back to the Va. Tech game we played in ATL a few years ago.

What strikes me is I had the same feeling a few weeks ago when I compared our upcoming game against Florida as a remake of Clemson in ATL a few years ago.

Your qb's may have more td's than AJ, but Trent alone has almost as many rushing td's as your entire running back corps.

All valid points as we gobble through all these stats looking for some edge for our respective teams. As I stated in another thread, there's no arguing Bama's defensive statistics--you guys are practically #1 across the board, while we're up there but not as high. LSU has played more high-powered offenses such as Oregon and WVU, but I do think Bama's defense is more disciplined and will put pressure on our QB's like they haven't seen this year. That's where potential turnovers come in, and the game is won or lost.

As far as LSU's offense, I really don't believe Bama's is MUCH better--I would say Trent Richardson is MUCH better. LSU actually has more TD's on offense than Bama--41 to 40. Granted, our production yardage-wise is down from yours--much of this is due to two of the things we do better:
1--capitalizing on the turnovers the Tigers lead the country in, lessening the amount of yardage needed to score;
2--winning the game of field position with one of the best punting games in the country--yardage-wise and pinning the opponents back--once again, less yards for LSU to go when they do get the ball.
