[h=1]Alabama-LSU rivalry continues on Twitter[/h]
Alabama and LSU may have settled things on the field at the BCS National Championship Game in January, but that hasn't stopped the Crimson Tide and Tiger players from continuing their rivalry online.

LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu (better known to fans as "The Honey Badger") expressed his excitement about the upcoming season on Monday morning by tweeting "try throwing a corner route or a cross country on me this year!!! i'll be waiting!!"

In an apparent response to Mathieu's tweet, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron tweeted moments later "U can talk ab stopping something.. But actions speak louder than words. Remember that. #neworleans #14"

The exchange then began to escalate as the two rival players began directing their tweets at each other. (Matheiu's Twitter name is @TM7_Era, McCarron's is @10AJMcCarron)

Mathieu: "@10AJMcCarron you have 1,THE school has 14! you play your part well thanks to great coaching! but anyways we'll talk nov 3rd!"

McCarron: "@TM7_Era Ur right the TEAM.. That's how we play as a TEAM.. We stick together through our losses and wins. #thatswhatmakesusgreat #wehave14"

McCarron continued the exchange by tweeting to Alabama wide receiver Kenny Bell:

"@TheKennyBell7 I guess we will have to match up the real 7 with theirs. I'm taking our number all day"

Mathieu: "highly favored in DEATH VALLEY!"

McCarron: "Bama fans don't talk anymore ab it. Let's just sit back quietly and wait our turn. Y'all know the date. It's comin. #november3rd #bamanation"

Cockiness in a QB is a good thing sometimes. As long as they are able to back it up.
These guys

were never cocky.....

That being said, I kinda hope Saban tells AJ to STFU and do his talking with his play on Nov 3rd. Talking trash with someone like honey badger is like wrestling with a pig, you both get muddy but the pig likes it.

If that was sarcasm, yeah I missed it. And I'm usually pretty good with that. Since I tend to be a sarcastic bastard, it's in my best interest to notice when somebody else uses it.

Sorry about that.

In November, we'll be reading threads about LSU fans and AJ's cell phone.

While it is the off-season, it's a distraction a kid shouldn't be paying any attention to...

As Brandon put it, "clutter."

It's not the first time I've seen something from AJ on twitter that caught my eye.

Fine line between confident and cocky! I like a QB that plays with a little of both. You got to be able to back it up and AJ has so far.

Agreed.

If we use McElroy as a gauge, it's not unreasonable to expect AJ to have a good year.

Adding to that a bit...

With the staff taking two QB's, it's a very safe assumption they think there is a better than average chance he leaves after this season. I've heard that he did request the NFL to "grade" him last season and by the same accounts it was favorable.

AJ is becoming cocky...if he's not there already. I suspect the later.

Now, on the other hand...

I heard about this tatoo this morning on College Football Live. Perhaps, a little cocky as well?

As I was looking for the pic I came across an article I had forgotten about.

Tyrann Mathieu vows to trash talk his way to a national title

Tyrann Mathieu's preparation for Monday night's BCS National Championship has been a little unconventional. In addition to sharpening his on-field skills and watching film of Alabama, he's also spent a little time looking up the names of the mothers of Alabama players.

And he plans to use them in abundance.

Mathieu, aka the Honey Badger, is not only one of the biggest playmakers on the field, he's also one of the biggest mouths and he plans to use that mouth as a trash-talking weapon against unsuspecting Crimson Tide offensive players.

"You try to get the edge any way you got to," Mathieu said. "When you are on the field you're just having fun, you're just talking. If you can get a player out of his zone, you win the battle.

"We are so good on defense, nobody wants to get in a shouting match with me and then line up on the other side of the field with (Morris Claiborne)."
