I don't envy the man at all. He's got so, so much on his plate right now I can certainly understand if he's trying to deflect things with a sense of humor.

People laughed at him for his smile comment not knowing his younger brother had just passed away.

He's given what could be easily described as a clusterf*** and told he's not supposed to coach, but let the assistants do their jobs. Now that those assistants personnel groups are showing a lot of deficiencies everyone is pointing to him ignoring the fact he was told to basically be a figure head.

Idiots are coming out of the woodwork calling for his head due to some of the teams' failings without even considering those failings were coming even if Petrino hadn't screwed up so badly.

Then we get into his financial situation. There's hardly a soul in the states that forecasted the real estate downturn and he is one of many caught in the wake.

No, im not trying to just pile on the old man. He is dealing with unbelievable stress left by BP. The wake of BP has been unbelievable, but you are totally correct. There have been major areas of concern because of lack of recruiting to the D, and because of lack of true D coaching. THe system is not going to work without the adminstration of BP being the complete control freak he was.

But... BUT>.. that being said, this is on LONG!... He chose to hire BP, and we were thankful... he also chose to Hire JLS... and we are not... he is in the crosshairs of the BOT for sure at present time. Asking for millions to continue the building of facilities etc with such horrible on the field results. His seat is warm at present time.

Now that being said. There is also this to say. Long has remained true to the core with his ethical decisions, and his staying with JLS speaks volumes that he doesnt cut and run with regards to difficulties, he meets them and then makes the changes needed. If possible coaches see this, and value this type of AD leadership... we may hire better in the future. We better for sure! We have tasted some success and as a fanbase our $$$ has went way up under this leadership. We want the results that come with the increased $$$$...
