I see NBC is touting a guesstimated 4.1 rating for last nights game and promoting the fact it ranks as the best home opener on NBC in 12 years & highest college football overnight of the day. The last part I suspected. It only makes sense with their national draw.
However, before I go any farther with this...
A 4.1 rating equals, roughly, five and a half to six and a half million viewers. It's a good number...except when it's compared to other openers like last year's game between Bama and FSU which drew an estimated 12.6 million viewers.
