I think the card maker blurred out the numbers on the helmet so as not to infringe on any copyright issues. I've seen that before with copyrighted photos being blurred.

I don't know about this particular case, but, I do know that, in the past, Alabama has gone with numbers on helmets and without, with names on jerseys and without, etc...

I wish I could be sure enough to say definitely.
