šŸˆ I Hope Saban will make them watch all the Penalties!!

I think it was Klatt that said Gary Patterson had been scheming and game planning for this game for 3 months. I think that explains a lot. I have always liked GP and he did a dang good job for TCU for a long time. He was Fran's DC when Fran was at TCU, he stayed to be the HC.
Having said all that, I don't understand our receivers not getting separation.
I agree with every last word you posted.

Gary Patterson was a great hire for D Coordinator. His TCU defenses were nasty before he sold his soul to the BIG offense only logic.

That place was also LSU loud from what I could tell. Lot of energy until the end. I hate Texas but that's one helluva an enviromment, in our second game. I.m not worried yet. Glad it happened early honestly. Saban says he likes this team. That's good enough for me.

It should be! I only saw four Bama fans. That was half way thought the 4th. Two at one time and the other two close to the end of the game! I'm guessing when the Band didn't go, that also go with the cheerleaders too.

I hope he runs them a good bit until they realize mental penalties will get you beat in a game against a good opponent. Texas gave Bama all they could for almost the entire game and we did not play well until we absolutely had to play well.

Why is everyone so focused on NIL? Has anyone noticed that all of stuff is handled in off-season?

But where do you think preparation and mental mindset are established? In the off-season. I'm not saying you are right or wrong or anyone else is right or wrong, but Alabama is so good because it's a 365 grind, not a 100 day adventure or 200 day season. Alabama grinds all off-season as well. Just look at Najee going back to California to train with his guy when Saban gave the guys time off. Things like that are now filled with commercials, signings, appearances, and other NIL opportunities. You may think that stuff is planned outside of practice, but it's a mental grind as well as physical. I'm sure no one moved the football practice schedule to accommodate the Krystal shoots the guys had, but can they do the shoot and get mentally and physically ready for that practice/film/playbook study/whatever else these guys are tapped to do in the offseason the next day?

Bryce was in California training with some of WRs. Some went home and trained. Some stayed on campus. I seriously doubt that NIL is the issues. It takes maybe 1 day or 2 to film all of dr. Pepper commercials. Any obligations they do.. is usually simple and is done in their free time.

Bryce isn't a concern of mine. He's the most well prepared person I have ever seen coming out of high school to handle the hype, the game, and the lights.

You say one day, but it's not one day. It's the traveling, the meetings, the signings, the paperwork, the money, the agents, the deals, the social media side, it's a lot. So way more than a day here and there. I know you keep acting like NIL is a simple Sociology 101 homework assignment, but there is a lot more to it than that. On top of it, Bryce has more than Dr. Pepper, he's got about twenty other deals in the works from what High Tide told me.

Once again, I'm not saying NIL is the problem, but I'm saying ever since it kicked in we're seeing a different type of team than we've seen every other year under Saban, except that team AJ McCarron called out for being Team Me and focusing on themselves over the team.

If you tell me college kids with $1MM of new money in their pocket isn’t distracted and it’s not impacting their focus, I’m not going to believe you. What sucks is teams may have an O-lineman with a $50k NIL deal protecting a QB with a $1MM deal. Throwing to a WR with no NIL deals.

I’m suspicious that it’s rearing its head with all these big teams losing to smaller teams.

All the elite programs are dealing with NIL so all are impacted. My money is on Saban being able to manage NIL better than anyone else. He has shown time and time again he is able to adapt and manage ego's, talent etc...

I believe this is another issue carrying over from a lost year of coaching/improving on the OL from last year. Just a theory ....

If its not a problem....it will be...
Just is common sense....
A guy with all this money and has his group of buddies
And another group busting their buns .....
To help make that other group more....

I know salaries are different in nfl...but everyone is getting a bunch...
