đź’¬ I caught my breath. Oh, geez. This SS?

Yeah. But something clicks at me when i see SS on those models...and its 396
But. Not betting anything on it
I know l.nobody said it in liters
I know it's a '71. I can't answer anything beyond that without asking in the X thread.

There is NO 'orange peel' in that paint job.

If you look under the SS as he backs out you will see 454. They switched Big Blocks in 1970 went from a 396 to a 454.

1968-1972 the was year of that body style with the rounded back. 67 was the last year of the square body style. (I used to own one).

From 68-72 same body with different grills and headlight/tail light variations. That thing was counting chickens as it idled.

The 68 and 69 Chevelle are a lot alike. But for me, the differences that separate the two are the taillights. The 68 has thin, sideways rectangular taillights while the 69 has more of a vertical, block, rectangular like taillights. The 68 model also has a vent window.

The 70, 71 and 72 are a lot alike. Although the 70 has dual headlights and sideways rectangular taillights. Both the 71 and 72 models have single headlights and round taillights. The 71 and 72 are too much alike for me to tell the differences. I doubt I could distinguish between the two if sitting side by side. I will takes TerryP's word that is a 71 model. That is a beautiful, slick car and sounds right.

I have been told that the headlight and taillight blocks can be swapped out between the 70, 71 and 72. It doesn't change the model but just changes the look from one model to the other.

I am not certain on this but I believe a number of engine sizes and trim packages could be ordered on the SS Chevelle and Malibu. The gas crunch started around 71,72? Muscle cars of that era started to become much more tame, gas efficient.

Not mine, but I had one just like this pic. 1972, white leather upholstery, 350. Sure wish it had the 454. Oh well, it was still a great car. After all of my driving like a bat outa he**, totaled it at 30 mph.
I love that color. But, I don't think I'd go that way if given the choice.

I had a black Honda for years and HATED it. The truck is black. HATE it. But,with an SS (no matter if it's a Monte Carlo or a Chevelle) I gotta go black.
