🏈 I am officially going to my first Bama game!

Well, barring purchase of actual tickets that is haha.

My boyfriend and I have decided to go big, and try to go to the Alabama-Tennessee game. We will likely make the drive down (I will meet him in DC and we will go from there). We are currently looking at hotels/motels/etc., and of course budgeting for Dreamland trips.

So, it's official-ish!!! I'd like to have my ticket in "hand" and not have to scalp (despite cheaper prices), so I can be in the stadium and taking it all in before the game even starts. Any suggestions for good places to look for tickets, or is anyone looking to sell their UT ticket? I am brand new to all of this (I've only been to Maryland and Temple football games, and those are pretty easy to get tickets for; this is a whole new world, it feels like) so any advice/tips would be appreciated.

Also, do any hotels/motels offer shuttle service to the stadium or is it gonna be a "walk a loooong way" or "find crazy expensive parking" type deal?

Will RTB be tailgating so I can meet you fellas in person?

Thanks Rick. I am trying, just not sure where to stay/how to buy tix. Not sure if it's better to stay outside T-town and get a parking spot, or how any of that works! I found parking info on the website but wanted to check with my RTB friends first.

What's the driving route from DC to Tuscaloosa?

I'm thinking a bit of a redirect and going DC, to Nashville, then to Tuscaloosa. You'll drive down in the middle of them son of a bitches!

Roll Experience Roll.

I have sold tix to this guy in the past and he is a broker, decent guy but is country as collard greens. He chews his words and will be difficult to understand, but he is a good guy. His name is Jason and he is a ticket broker. He doesn't have any for the UT game listed, but I bet he can find them. As the season gets closer, let me know about what you do as far as motel. They can be scarce on game day weekends, especially big games. A lot of folks stay in B'ham and make the 62 mile commute on gameday. I work just south of T-town in a little community called Centreville. It is about 25 miles away. There is a new bed and breakfast that will possibly be open by then. If it is open, I'll hook you up with the info. That will probably be as cheap if not, cheaper and is a real easy drive to the game.

It was gonna be a straight shot down 81/ 75/59 through Knoxville. Debating stopping in Chattanooga for Friday night, then going on to Tuscaloosa on Saturday. Never been to Nashville, though!

Hi rammerjammer, do you think Jason could hook me up? I'd like to have the tickets in hand before I get there.

Re: motel/hotel, I would like to do whatever is simplest! Do any places offer shuttles to the campus on game day? Is parking "easy" to come by? If not, ideally, I'd like to be within walking distance (2.5 miles or less) of Tuscaloosa so I can fully enjoy the game day experience, but I'm flexible as long as I can get there and see the game!!

Tickets would be the last thing I'd worry about because they're always availablec. Book your hotel. A lot less of those around than tickets. EBay has always been a good way for me. The problem you run into with tickets before the season is the hype surrounding a new season and it creates high demand which creates higher prices. I would look at eBay and even see if you can find some student tickets on Craigslist or Facebook that can be upgraded for regular fans. These are the most cost effective ways.

Look at the Embassy Suites that was just built in Downtown Tuscaloosa. They have a game day shuttle all around there and it's a real pleasant walk on Gameday that will allow you to see just about everything. Weather should be spot on that time of year, so a walk with a bourbon drink outta get you pumped. The Hotel Capstone is also right on campus and the perfect place if you're able to get in there.

Never buy tickets this early, you'll take a huge financial hit unless you get someone who's willing to sell you them at face or just above face.

I imagine you know this already, but just in case you don't.

As @BamaFan334 suggested, hotel is first priority. Tickets can wait a while, with just two of you going, you should be able to buy seats at the stadium and not worry.
