🏈 Hunch on Oregon

i want some of what yall are smoking.

ND definitely loses to USC.
i don't see Oregon losing to anyone left on their schedule.
kansas st. also may drop to Texas in a shootout.

our best route is to play oregon after the other two take a loss.

Not trying to say anything, but would you honestly want to play Oregon after the show case we had against A&M and Ole Miss for that matter??...

Then again our defense could grow up by then end and become an unstoppable monster again...something like when we played Michigan State.

the second half and most of the second quarter wasn't bad against A&M. i wouldn't say it is an impossible task for alabama to defend these type teams, but it also needs to be understood that you're unlikely to shut them down.

our offense has to man up and realize that they have to, for a change, outscore an opponent that is more than capable on offense. i expected A&M to score somewhere around the point margin they did against us... honestly i wouldn't expect oregon to score much more. we have to put up 31+ points to beat these teams. that is all.

our offense made A&Ms defense look great. they are maybe slightly better than average on defense. the story of the game is our offense looking horrible for most of the possessions we had.

if oregon's defense better than A&Ms??? i don't think so.

Did you see Bama losing to anyone left on their schedule? Oregon is no more unbeatable than Bama. Texas A&M is no better than Stanford, Oregon State, nor USC/UCLA.

I'd love to see our defense take on Oregon after five weeks of preparation. That would be a total smackdown. I really wish the four team playoff had started this year, four weeks of prep followed by a couple of beatdowns of ND and Oregon....that would be some good times!

Saban mentioned this week there were just under 10 times A&M caught the defense scrambling to get set. There were more times than that where they were scrambling to get set with substitution patterns and some confusion.

3-4 days to prepare for A&M compared to the time between the SECCG and the BCSNC? Two totally different scenarios.

And, quite frankly, take one of those two turnovers deep in A&M territory away and this game is 31-29.

I was disappointed we lost last weekend, no doubt. The only thing that truly upset me was those three turnovers. It reminded me of all the missed field goals against LSU last year.

We continually pull out a gun, pointed at our feet, and pulled the trigger.

agreed about the turnovers... but the low point for me was throwing the ball on 1st and goal from the 6. it's an easy bam bam bam bam and game over if you run Eddie Lacy or any of our other running backs 4 times... they could even run the same play 4 times and score... they could have told A&M what play were running and still scored.

it is a sad state of affairs when you have at your disposal a great running game and fail to use in in a close goal line situation.

no i don't see Alabama losing any of the remaining games, but i also think there's a slim chance of k state or oregon losing. i think that is your ticket selling NCG. "THE MOST points scored ever in a NCG! get your tickets here! who needs defense. let's just see who scores last!!!" embarrassing.

i do think ND loses though

I, as you, wonder about that play selection. But, I also have to take into account they were getting good penetration from their defensive line as well. I certainly would have rather seen a two TE set and just pound the ball with a lead blocker.

However, when we were passing on first down we had good success against A&M.

Here is something to mull on regarding Oregon. For a shootout their game against USC was fairly physical, and Cal ran right at their defense, which is now a bit banged up. This week they are playing easily the most physical team in the PAC 12. If (admittedly a huge if) Stanford can get a few stops they have a real shot

It was as bad as Arkansas throwing 12 incompletitions and stopping the clock 12 times in the last 8 minutes of the ULM game. They could have taken a knee 12 times and won the game.
