Witnessed a kid nail a 54 yard FG tonight to force OT. Sylacauga HS beat Munford 29-22 in OT, but it was a school record 54 yard FG as time expired that extended my son’s playing career at least 1 more game. Munford had scored to go ahead 22-19 with 46 seconds left in the game that set up the dramatic finish! Holy Cow!!!! I would talk the kid into going to BAMA, BUT we all know what happens to our kickers once they step foot on campus.

They need to hire a kickers coach. Pay someone like Sebastian Janikowski to develop our kickers.

That's literally the only thing I can think of at this point.

@RollllTide! and @UAgrad93 isn't this the same as last year with Will Reichard? Please don't think am being mean here? I keep seeing that Bama(Saban ) has miss over 100 FG and xpoints? But I see that he has won 6 NCS(Bama only) and was in two other Championship games?

Last year, I would've told you that he and the holder were inseparable. The holder had one job last year and that was it. This year, the kid was our starting tailback. They didn't get many reps together at all and it showed. While he did hit the school record 54 yarder, he missed AT LEAST 8 from inside 40!!!! Before he made that long one, he missed from 30 earlier in the game. He missed 2 the previous week from 36 wide left and 37 wide right!!

It worked out getting us into the playoffs, but no so much as far as advancing went. He went 0 for 1 in a 10-7 first round loss. A LOT of things went on leading up to that game with the HC and the superintendent and it was perhaps the worst called game by the HC in his 15 years here. Superintendent wanted some changes made and the HC refused. Superintendent came back the day of the game and asked for the HCs resignation as AD and the coach refused. He was then relieved of his AD duties the Tuesday following the loss. In the end, the kids were done a HUGE disservice.

To be honest, it wasn't. While this coach has gotten to the playoffs 12 of 15 years. He has only gotten out of the 1st round once and this was perhaps his most talented senior class!!

I was thinking Bulovus was a walk-on.... That's even more depressing. How much can go wrong at that damn position? To be optimistic the ball explodes off Rechards foot.... And yet the kicker comes down with a legit injury. SMH

And Bulvalos....really respect him....i can imagine the pain...and accept fully his apology...but.. just thinking though...how hard would it be to hit a goal post...with a kick....from that far out....

Not many of us know what kind of agony a kicker goes through when they miss. Bulvalos is a class act. He was apologizing on twitter
