🏈 How well can Marshall handle the QB pressure in the big game ?

Don't let up until we get a BIG lead, and , no I don't mean 24 points. Get a lead, don't let off the gas, then blitz, blitz, blitz. Marshall is a good athlete, but no Scam Newton. He won't be able to lead them from a big deficit by passing the ball. Play like the 2nd half against LSU & it will be a bloodbath.

I see this game like this, the Barn runs about 5 plays from about 3 formations with the FB Prosch leading the ball carrier on 95% of the time. The Barn will try to throw it deep a couple of times to loosen us up and then they will go to the run game. When we limit their run game, Marshall will see blitzes coming from the 5th row!! I see this game being close for a couple of quarters and then we simply impose our will and pull away in the 4th. Like Terry said, I'm not really concerned either. BAMA by 17!!!

from what i've seen they do some traps, dives (including QB dives), end arounds/reverses, read option, and straight option for the most part.

Birdman, it really is the same 4-5 plays out of different formations but they motion into one common formation before the snap. There really isn't a whole lot of creativity to it. They will line up in what we called "lonesome polecat" where the tackles and ends split way out wide and attempt a screen or double pass. They'll attempt a reverse or double reverse/pass. It really is a HS offense when you study it. Hell, I've studied some HS offenses more complicated than this. Think of this offense as the Wing T from shotgun...ie. A lot of misdirection, trying to gain angles. to show you just how HS Malzahn is in his thinking, watch the 2011 game. They run a play action in the first half and it misses but the receiver was open. What does he do on the very next step? He calls the same damn play!! Later in that ballgame, once again, he calls a deep pass that almost gets picks but again the receiver is open. Next snap, same play different result. Milliner picks it and takes it to the house. The QB doesn't read the coverages!

I hope they try to establish the pass to start off...just going to make the differential in the final score that much more extreme.
