I doubt we see at 4th (in a row) change at DL coach. That group might (along with Sal's group) have improved as the season progressed. I can't say that about the safety play (Charles Evans) but it might be the Jimmy and Joe's instead of the guy with the whistle. I am surprised we don't have more athletic safety play instead of the Battle type safety.
We're not replacing DL coach.

I would be shocked if there’s any coaching changes other than replacing ones that leave for other opportunities.

I’ve never seen a fan base bitch and moan about an undefeated team than Bama’s. This is a vastly better defense than last year and outside of a couple of games they’ve played good. We’re undefeated and in the playoff and people are talking about coaching changes and shit.

Who have we beaten outside of Florida? Georgia with a JV quarterback, LSU that was depleted from last year and dealing with internal issues, Auburn that was just not good, Texas A&M that was decent, and the rest were overmatched. You won't find me crowing about being undefeated here. I sure am glad we are, but the SEC wasn't tough this year. Ole Miss and Florida weren't outliers, they were just able to take advantage of our weaknesses while limiting their own mistakes. We are going to deal with a team, if we beat Notre Dame, that will do the exact same as Florida and Ole Miss, but with better defense and better athletes. So yeah, some of us have a few concerns. Win the Natty without100%relying on your offense to score on every possession and I will calm myself and dole out the appreciation to the defensive coordinator.

CNS is improvement driven. If changes are needed then he will make them, should stability, cohesiveness and a spring to practice be judged the path of improvement then that will be the direction taken. Many seem to think changes in murky, uncertain times will be good for the synergy and dynamics of the team. Eh....who knows?

Just as Saban talks about ignoring the scoreboard during a game, we should say the same about the teams record. The D issues need to be looked at regardless of what happens in the next game or two. The D will not magically be all better even if we win out.

Then I guess there’s no reason for you to watch the games because obviously the team after ND is going to stomp us

Dynamite insight you have there. Pretty much the same you broadly stroked over everyone that thinks that Pete Golding isn't the crown jewel of Alabama Football.
“Crown jewel” that’s what you got out of that? He isn’t the greatest, but he isn’t the absolute shit everybody thinks he is. And I don’t think he should be fired every damn week

You're right, he shouldn't, but he has also shown even with his #1 guys that were out last year that he can't stop a solid quarterback. If we don't have Devonta, we lose multiple games because our defense can't stop a good quarterback. It's sad when you fear 3rd and Long over a 3rd and Short as a fan.

Golding got a pass from me last year as he just dealt with a lot of losses. Fast forward to this year and I'm seeing similar results. 41-0 against Mississppi State does not sway me either way. We get ate up in the middle of the field every game just about. The SEC was bad this year and it camouflaged our weaknesses. What happens after we lose the talent we have this year, does he get another pass?

Don't get me wrong, our defense is not bad, but I think it could be better. Tackling has gotten MUCH MUCH better. Anderson is learning to pressure, Barmore is showing the guy from the end of last season. I just don't think we are tough in pass coverage, the one area you feel we would pay more attention due to Saban's comments lately.

and we talk alot about developing QBs...are we having unbelievable talent on D ....but not developing others?
I dont know....
nick has stuck with DC for 2 years....
Handed him the defensive golden challis of players...
See what ns thinks and does
See what year 3 is after this one....

I have been one of the toughest on our D this year but they have improved for sure. I feel if we lose in the playoffs someone will slow down our offense and the D will not be able to get enough stops to make up for it. No one has been able to do it this year (slow down the offense) so we have not been faced with it. Not going to be as easy the next couple of games.

With that said, Kirby and even Pruitt coached defenses had issues. Think about the 2016 Defense, probably one of the most talented Defenses Saban has had. Clemson ran 100 plays against that defense. One of the best teams Saban has had did not walk away with a trophy because we could not stop the spread, up tempo offense with a great QB. We all know that was a great Defense in 2016. That game made me reluctantly come to the conclusion you will not shut down a great QB. I still do not like it!!!!

Umm.. Would you argue that ND and Clemson and OSU went through same thing playing medicore teams? I think you're overreaching on this point.

if you had paid attention to what Chip Kelly said in interview.... He said he wouldn't change a thing... Probably play cover 1 with little of zone... similar to what they did against Clemson.
