šŸˆ How good can this defense be?

Does this fire you up? Maybe, just a little bit?

ā€œWe don’t think anyone should move the ball on us. We don’t think we should ever be scored upon. We take that pride every time we step out on the field. We have one of the best defenses, we have to play like it every time.ā€

I have to go back a year and remember what I had a few former players tell me when they said that the talent they saw on defense was the best they had ever seen. And, that included a few guys from the early 90's.

I see this defense dominating oponents.

I see pride, swagger, confidence and a ton of talent. They can take an impact like the '92 group...

I'm very confident with them as well as the coaching-staff. And I agreed with Lorenzo, anyone should move the ball consistently on us...

RTR,

ā€œYou can look up to that, but I’m not trying to be them,ā€ Washington said. ā€œI’m trying to be the best I can be. That ’92 defense was incredible.
ā€œI want to be like that.ā€
Which makes 1992 not the comparison, but the target.
ā€œThat’s one thing I do like about Alabama, there’s so much history and tradition at this school,ā€ he continued. ā€œI don’t want to look toward the end of the season, but we end up being one of the best defenses in the history of Alabama I’ll hold that dear to my heart.ā€

Now I loved that. I hope they make it so.

Yea.....I just watched the 92-93 Sugar Bowl game...again.. and that defense was the best I have ever seen at Alabama and without question....one of the best in the history of college football. The speed and size was incredible...not to mention the smarts of the players and defensive staff....this team we have now has the potential IMO to get that good at some point.
