I was piddling around looking at the roster on rolltide.com and was looking at all the coaches.

I did not realize that Mike Groh is no longer with us. I usually keep up with stuff like this and was surprised. I wonder if it was a situation of moving on to the NFL or if he was invited to leave... (ie Major Applewhite,) Either way, I thought he did a good job for us, and from what I read was a pretty good recruiter. Oh well, good luck to him.

Billy Napier seems like pretty good pick-up. He fell from grace during the early part of Dabo's head coaching time—OC for Tommy Bowden.

Clemson fans probably don't have any love lost for his time as OC under Dabo but as a WR coach he's well qualified, ya know?

I'm guessing Groh has a a pretty sweet gig with the Bears.

Speaking of ex-coaches - I saw the other day that Mike Shula has become the Carolina Panthers OC.

Say what you will about Shula as a HC, but there is no doubting his ability to develop and coach QB's.

Yes Groh got a great opportunity and seemed to leave in good grace. He was well liked by staff and players alike.
