| FTBL How can the gators be beat.

IMO..Its a game of first downs...our Offense must make first downs...and that equates to 3rd and short. If we cant control the ball and genereate first downs...we lose :( Our defense can play with anybody, but we cant expect them to maintain pressure and effective play if they are on the field all day...We must throw the ball..IMO, enough to make their LB corp respect the throw...if not, it will be difficult to maintain a good running game.

All that being said...This game will be won at QB and the trenches. JPW doesnt need to throw for 500 yds...but a good 150 to 250 yds and NO TURNOVERS.

IMO...This is not only the SEC Championship but the National Championship also...I dont care what the BCS says... :)

Offensive side- Ball control, take as much time as you can to keep the Florida offense from taking the field. Run, left, run right, and pound some more. Play action routes to the TE's along with the occasional long ball to Julio. Balance is key. Score in the red zone.

Defense- Contain Tebow, pressure him to run, and make your hits count. Punish him. He is their offense in my opinion. That Jack player needs to shadow his every move.

Solid play at special teams.

All this stuff is obvious, but hard to do if your not focused. Thats where the coaching staff comes in. I like our chances.

I watched ESPN last night and 66 you and Dr. Lou must be on the same page. Did anyone else see him say bama might win because of out DL and OL?

I thought it was a given law that ESPN never goes against the gators, but Dr. Lou said if our line could come and and push the gators around we could win the game.

I really think we will see this team come and man handle the gators. I really see the game coming down the in my book the MVPS of our season the line men. I can't wait to watch this game.

Will Harvin play?

Dr. Lou also said that Alabama has outscored MOST of their opponents.. this was before he started cutting turkey with the dull end of the knife.

I don't think Harvin will play.

Stay sound and disciplined on defense. Sound in the kicking game, solid and physical on offense. Don't let them have big plays. Of course that is what we have done all year.

On offense run the ball to set up play action and control the clock.
On defense, maintain our gap assignments and don't bite on their misdirection. Their schemes are designed to open up the middle of the field and give Tebow the pass run option.

The team that has matched up to us best this season was LSU. They had the meat on the DL that could deal with our offensive line. Florida doesn't have that, but their defense is very fast and very good. JP will not get a lot of open looks, but I don't think the pressure will be too great either. I really would like to avoid having to throw the ball, but if we do, lots of stuff to the TE's out in the flat. I see big yardage in those areas.

We've been good at not turning over the ball and not committing a lot of penalties this year. That same formula can work this Saturday too. We are the more complete team, but Florida is much, much more explosive. We must limit their opportunities.

This will be the toughest game we will play this season, regardless of who the bowl opponent is.

I see it being settled in the trenches as it has for our entire season. We control both sides and execute as we have and things will take care of themselves.

Take a lesson from '92 and the NC game with Miami. Toretta and Tee-Bone are alot alike in that; they are both very cockey and don't expect to be touched at all in the pocket during a game. Punch Tee-Bone in the mouth right from the start and he will make mistakes. Also, they have faced VERY little adversity all season long and we have. If we come out and knock them around especially on the lines, they will begin to have doubt. Another lesson from '92 and Brother Bill's D - mix up the looks and coverages alot. Stack the line bring it some times and stack the line and back off others. Mount Cody will be key as will Rolando and Rashaad. On offense, respect their speed by running right at them - all we need is 3.4 yards per carry. Run straight at 'em downhill. Best of all, JP plays MUCH better on the road than at home AND CNS is undefeated as a coach in the Georgia Dome. ROLL TIDE!!

florida's strength relies on the fact that they never have negative plays..

if they pass on first down and coverage is good then tebow will get his five yards on the ground.. thus putting them in good position with second and five..

we have to create third down and long situations.. the only way to do that is to take the run away from tebow.. we have to man him up on first down.. if they throw on first down and noone is open, then we can't give him his five yards..

secondly we cannot give up the big play.. this does not mean that florida cannot break one into the open.. that will almost certainly happen, but when they do we have to keep the play from being a touchdown. our D has done a good job with this all year.. (think about jackson in the first quater against ole' miss) we have to make them line up for another set of downs.. i think we will have to play our safteys back until they start hurting us underneath.. if they drive down the field, in about 10 plays, converting 3rd downs, then we have overcome one important obsticle..

offensivle, we just do what we've done all year.. POUND IT!!. keep our D off the field..

the one thing that we HAVE to do offensivly is get the 6 points in the red zone.. we cannot settle for 3 in this one..

Florida has hurt alot of opponents with turnover margin this year.. we cannot make mistakes, but i don't think we will be playing catch-up football like others have against them this year.

we CANNOT get a punt blocked!!.. that is another area that florida excels in.. whatever it takes, this cannot happen..

othen than this we should be fine.. :D
