| FTBL How bad will Kentucky bash Alabama?

Southern Bama-you really know how to show me. You need to come up with something better than that. Remember your in the South with me. GO CATS!!!

They better hope they win the toss and elect to receive the ball. That will be the only time they are in the game.

The guy has kept his stuff to football...why bring in stuff like that? :?: :?: :?:

B/C if he cant handle it.....he needs to stay in the sandbox with the other kids..instead of getting on here with that garbage...Dont come and talk about bashing and not expect something in return...

Here's the thing...

If you WANT this to remain about the football game, so be it. It'll stay here.

If you WANT this to turn to playground smack talk, that's cool to. I'll move it to the smack forum.

Make your choice. Means no difference to me. I'll stick with the football stuff...you guys can have all the smack talk fun you want.

We have room, and welcome both.

Which is it guys?

I agree...hope the members follow suit.

I do wish you guys an injury free game, but even Georgia, WKU, Clemson, etc. didn't come out that lucky because of the physical nature of our team.

One thing for sure...

To beat us, you are going to have to do it through the air. And, I just don't see Hartline being able to pull that off.

Woodson, I would be nervous.

And, I'm not taking a thing away from Tony Dixon or Derrick Locke. But, considering we have held 3 of the best RB's in the nation to less than 50 yards rushing, combined, I just don't see you guys running on us, at all. (CJ Spiller, Knowshon Moreno and James Davis...all three NFL draftee's next season)

Read this post I made on Sunday:

Since we have both played Western Kentucky, I think it's interesting to look at the Stats comparison.

Western Kentucky (vs Bama - vs Kentucky)

Offense
Total Yards 158 - 157 (Pretty much a wash)
Rushing Yards 42 - 142 (obviously Bama has the edge in run D)
Passing Yards 166 - 15 (put into perspective, WKU threw 27 passes against Bama and only 14 vs Kentucky. Probably due to the fact they had more success running against the Cats. Still, 15 is impressive)

Defense
Yards Allowed 557 - 398 (though the scores were similar, this shows Bama was more dominate)
Rushing 281 - 216 (figure in # of plays and it's pretty even. 5.7 yds per carry for both teams)
Passing 276 - 182 (Same number of attempts and completions, the difference comes in yards per completion. 9 for Bama, 6 for Kentucky. This means Bama receivers do a much better job in the Yards After Catch category)

I think this shows that to win the game, Bama needs to run the ball and stop the run. KY's strength is stopping the pass and their weakness is throwing the ball downfield on offense. If we can establish the run and prevent Kentucky from doing the same, it should be an easy win.

Hey BigBlue, welcome to the site.

So far this year Bama's D line has pretty much dictated what the other team could do. And for the most part thats been not a whole lot. Do you think your Oline can match up and make room for your offense?

What about on Defense. Sure your ranked 4th in total defense, but do you have the personel to match up to the veteran Oline Bama has? Youve allowed 75 yds per game on the ground, but between Coffee and Ingram, Bama is averaging 5.5 yds/carry.

After 4 games that you must admit were against cupcake opponents, is KY ready for Alabama? Can they match up physically with this team?

thoughts?

FWIW, I wasn't just writing that to you! I do appreciate you stopping by this afternoon!

Hope I can say the same in the basketball season.

Defense-I think we can hang

Offense- Who knows. The Kentucky offensive line is suspect at times making the running backs earn their yards. Hartline 95% of the time throws the safe ball (2-5 yards) and lets the receivers and back pick up additional yards. I think it will be hard for Kentucky to win but not impossible. SEC football usually gives us great games.

My 2 1/2 pennies worth is this....Kentuckys only hope is that Bama beats itself...penalties, missed assignments, dropped passes, OVERCONFIDENCE etc.. I dont think the players for Kentucky can match up for the entire game...they may can stay in there for a while, but eventually wear down. I have no concern whatsoever with our coaching ability / game plan.

All this being said...anything is possible as we have all seen so far this year.

We are going to line up most of the time in our base set, a 3-4. Our intent, first and foremost, is going to be to stop your running game.

So, you are right, it's going to be on Hartline.

We'll likely allow those short routes if that is how you come out. We allowed those to every team we've played with the idea of keeping those plays in front of our back 8.

The question I have for your offense is what you are going to be able to do if our secondary decides on press coverage. If that's the case, and we decide to put the JACK on the line, then it's going to be an interesting ball game if you can contain our 4 rushing linemen.

We do have a second option at quarterback should Hartline choke the first couple of quarters. R. Cobb (run/pass quarterback)is back from a high ankle sprain and may give give better options. The only problem is he has never played in a place like Alabama.

And what about that power in Tulane, you sure showed them!!

Okay, friend, I can understand that you are very excited about the team you support being better than they have been in a while.

Hey, four and zero is a good start for any team, especially a team like Kentucky that hasn't always had the best of times. The Wildcat fans are starved, they want it, they need it, it is something special for them to be able to quote stats.

Here is what I would do after the game if I were you. First of all, find solace in the fact that your team is 4-1. Maybe they will not have 4 or 5 players put out of the game with injuries like Georgia did.

All of you guys still have the whole season ahead of you and losing to 'Bama will make you stronger as a fanbase and as a team. It really will, I am not being facetious.

Don't feel angry when the game is over, feel relieved. Don't blame the referees. Thank the referees for not calling to many penalties against either team and prolonging an agonizing death on national television.

I respect you as a person and as a Kentuckian, but as a fan of the Wildcat football team, you deserve no respect.

Just remember, it isn't you out there that is going to feel like you have been trampled by elephants. Your pain will not be physical, but only mental.

Whatever you do to cope with adversity, whatever you do to fight off depression or feelings of hopelessness, go ahead and prepare for that. Get everything in place and be ready.

Have a nice day, little guy.

Roll Tide!!!

As to "I think the defense can hang."

It's going to be on Gonzalez, Beets and Duncan. It'll take two of those guys to cover our NT. I think Garry Williams will do OK.

Whether it's Murphy or Alexander at your RT...there's is the position it is going to be a long, long day for...if you decide to use Drake (TE) for run support over there you can be assured we'll have our defense slanted that way still press the right side.
